In going over the site (huntingplanit.com) thoroughly, I noticed a funny thing in "ask a question." At the bottom of the text area the user can opt to add an article or a module from the Joomla back end. I think this is because we are using Modules Anywhere. It is a handy tool but really just an extension of Joomla's core ability to put a module wherever you want based on module name or ID. The problem here is that even registered users see these two unwanted buttons. Registered users are not allowed back end access. It is only reserved for super users. So I guess this question is a little far afield. But do you have any ideas for how not to allow these two "add" button to show? Uninstalling Modules Anywhere isn't a good option because we are using it for layout here and there across the site. To see this phenemon yourself you are welcome to log in to the front end as Test xxx/xxx. Then go to Connect/Discussion Board/Ask a Question.
Thanks as always.

Hello Jim,

Go to Extensions Manager and on the left filters, click on the "Select Type" and choose "editors-xtd". Then, click on the plugin "Button - Article"

Hello Jim,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. This is really not an issue with EasyDiscuss but you can easily fix this by changing the permissions for the "Module Anywhere" editor plugin. Just set the access to this plugin to "Special". You can change the access by accessing the Plugin Manager > Click on "Module Anywhere"

Hi guys,
For future reference I found that all you need to in the button parameters of Modules Anywhere is to turn off "display in front end." Got rid of the add-a-module link. I still however am left with a link to add an article. And that seems to be under the control of EasyDiscuss. But I can't find it anywhere in the ACL paramaters. I tried disallowing "upload an attachment," but that wasn't it. This last thing can't be a Modules Anywhere issue because that button has been turned off in the front end. Is there a similar button somewhere in the EasyDiscuss CP?
Thanks,
-Jim G.

I should have mentioned that you can see the issue if you log in to the front end as Test User/Renegade1$. Then go to Connect/Discussion Board/Ask a Question.
Thanks again,

Hello Jim,

The ACL part isn't actually controlled by EasyDiscuss but it's controlled by the plugin manager in Joomla. Just head on to the Plugin Manager, click on the Modules Anwhere plugin which is under the group "editors-xtd". Then, there's a settings for "Access". You just need to set this to special.

Hey Mark, I'm afraid this doesn't work because changing access to special stops the module from working. If I set the button to not display in front end, that does work. The add-a-module button goes away. But I'm still left with the add-an-article button which does not seem to have anything at all to do with Modules Anywhere. I still think it's coming from somewhere else. I am also contacting my friend at Modules Anywhere.
Thanks as always,
-Jim G.

No problem, always glad to contribute my own learning experiences. But now what about the "articles" button? Log in to huntingplanit.com as Test User/Renegage1$ and find Discussion Board/Ask a Question in the Connect menu. I am scractching my head because when I inspect the button in Chrome it seems to point to Tiny MCE, which we aren't using.
Thanks!

Sorry to be such a Klutz, but I'm not finding the "article" button you are referring to in the plugins. Which plugin should I be looking for?
Thanks,
-Jim G.
