Hey there,

I just recognized something really strange. Usually all forum posts should be seen inside the stream. But this does not happen but I can not see any reason for this. As an admin I can see all things but logged in as a user there are posts and even threads missing.

Any idea why it is like that?

EDIT: I just found out that the same thing happens for EasyBlog stream entries. Please compare admin and registered filters here as well to see the result. Filter name is "Magazin" in my case.

EDIT: Seems like all filters are acting very strange and display only some of the things that should be shown inside the stream.
Hello Sabih,

I've checked yousite and seems like you are using an outdated version of Easysocial (1.4.1). Can you upgrade it to the latest version (1.4.5) and see how it goes? Because I remember we have fixed some issues for the filter.

Hey Nik,

updating would be crazy for me due to a LOT of small dirty hacks made. I admit that I had no intention to update before the next major update like 1.5 because of the time it takes to check and re-change all things. I tend to have very bad documentation about my changes.

Is there a way to update only a specific folder or only the specific files. So I could overwrite the existing files on my backup site to check what I need to change again. Because I can not remember that I made any changes to the filters so this part might be safe to update for me.

On this way I could update my backup site and copy the folders and files necessary instead of overwriting the whole installation on my live site.

Hey Sabih,

To be honest with you, I am not sure if this could work as files could be out of sync but try replacing the following files:

/components/com_easysocial/controllers/dashboard.php
/components/com_easysocial/views/dashboard/view.ajax.php
/components/com_easysocial/controllers/stream.php
/components/com_easysocial/views/stream/view.ajax.php

You should try to track your changes with a git / mercurial repository from github.com or probably bitbucket.org . This way your changes can be documented without you manually documenting stuffs

Ouch, that does not sound promising at all. But I will try this and see how it goes and report back. Thank you Mark.

Updated my backup site to 1.4.5 and took those 4 files to overwrite the ones on my live site which is running on 1.4.1. Gave absolutely no effect. Because it did not improve anything I have put back the old files again.

I need to say that I got 1.4.5 on my backup site now but there are still missing things after filters were used. So I assume 1.4.5 did not improve this.

Hello Sabih,

Did you mean you have installed 1.4.5 in your test site? If so, can you provide us the access to your test site so that I can troubleshoot your issue?

Hello Sabih,

I've added a fix in your file: ../administrator/components/com_easysocial/models/stream.php in line 1421. Please verify if this fix has solved the issue.

Great! Thank you very much Nik, that did it. Works even on my live site with 1.4.1.
