Hi guys! We'd really appreciate if you could check out the beta release of EasyDiscuss 3.2 and do a thorough test for us. You can download the installer just below this post under the Attachments part.

In this version, we will have the important EasySocial integrations in the activity stream and notifications. There is also a new theme called Zinc that you can test it out.

We urge you not to install this beta version in your live websites as it may not work properly. Kindly test this version in your local Joomla instance, please.

While testing and if you may have a new feature that comes to mind, kindly keep it for the future and inform us in another thread. We'd like your focus to be in testing this version and feedback to us your findings.

Happy testing, folks!
Can you provide a little bit more information on:

- Issues fixed
- New features

Does this version work with a localhost/xammp installation? The 3.1 would not install for me.

Just started testing the beta.

1. COSMETIC - UPDATE VERSION NUMBER logo. This will help avoid confusion after installation of beta 3.2.

After installation, I started checking for new features.

2. ESSENTIAL FEATURE MISSING - No way to set EasySocial as register provider.

UPDATE! After selecting Components > EasySocial and then going back to EasyDiscuss 3.2 Dashboard, I found that EasySocial showed up in the list.

In EasyDiscuss 3.2 _ DashBoard > Settings > General > Workflow - Login Provider - Select a register provider. I had expected that since I have EasyDiscuss and EasySocial installed I would find EasySocial in this list. EasySocial is not available. Does this feature exist or is something amiss here?

Warning
JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/chambans/public_html/components/com_easydiscuss/themes/flatt

JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/chambans/public_html/components/com_easydiscuss/themes/flatt

In the Theme settings in ED 3.2 beta There is only one theme to select in my installation: Simplistic. All other themes have disappeared after installing beta 3.2

4. YES NO SETTING BUTTONS DON'T WORK - I can't get any of the Yes No buttons to work after installing 3.2. NOTE! I was having an issue with this earlier before installing beta 3.2, so maybe this is an older issue not resolved.

Thanks Adelene, I will wait for the next beta.

New theme Zinc is no where to be found. I checked the Themes folder and only found Simplistic.

To add back in the previous install themes, I went back and grabbed the Themes from EasyDiscuss 3.1 and uploaded them via ftp to the Themes folder in EasyDiscuss 3.2 beta. The Flatter theme works to some degree, and the toolbar is not messed up any more, but there are still issues with functions on the toolbar not working as expected.

1. The editor doesn't appear right. Location does not show properly.

Screencast: http://screencast.com/t/dLxuhucXC0wL

I was able to add a few discussions, but nothing shows up in the EasySocial Stream after I post the discussions with the ED beta 3.2. I have the Discuss app installed. But I can't seem to get anything to show in the stream. It's beta, and these issues will all be sorted out soon enough.

Adelene,

what an unappealing theme Zinc seems to be. So let me just check: it's black & white with some grey and 1 other colour?

Hello Richard,

The "Zinc" theme is actually a new theme that is meant to be "simple" and to allow 3rd party template makers to easily customize the theme.

From what I have tested I would have to say it is not ready for prime time. The new Discuss app was not included and some of the toolbar buttons didn't work for me in my tests. I would wait for the next beta.

It is worth testing on a test site. though, since I am sure there are more bugs to find.

- unable to submit new question or answer
- Editor bbcode is not showing up in frontend
- unable to add tags or url in frontend

Installed on test 2.5 site with YooTheme template - a few UI issues

- header area has funky spacing
- a blue marker with a 0 in it shows up on every post, not sure why? This occasionally has a number in it that doesn't seem to correlate to anything.
- notifications in the category menu not showing up correctly.

I have been running the beta live on my site with no real issues. I notice the them issue mentioned above and the bb editor issue also. I just defaulted the editor to tinyMCE and it works fine. I also left simplistic as the default template with no real problems at all. It looks really good I especially like the script optimization and compression features on the back end.

On a side note I noticed a few minor glitches with PM functionality when trying to reply to a conversation, but if you initiate a new Pm with the individual it appends the old conversation with a reply. So, it is still a little buggy but almost ready for all. Thanks, for your efforts on this one.
