I have multiple profile types in my JomSocial site. It has 3 types of users with different permissions and access levels. I want one of the profile types to not be allowed to post blog posts at all. How would I do this? When I click on ACL it shows me the user types of the default Joomla users, not the user types of JomSocial. Any help?
hi Mobeen,

Sorry for late reply to this,

May i know what Joomla user group you assign in your Jomsocial profile type which you do not want to allow this profile user submit blog post?

By the way, unfortunately the Easyblog only show the Joomla user group for the ACL setting, so i have an ideas, you can create a new Joomla user group call "CantBlog group", then you need to assign this "CantBlog group" in one of the Jomsocial profile type.

Then you have to disable write/publish entry premission from this Easyblog ACL setting > Joomla user group.

So this user profile do not have the permission to to write/publish entry in your Easyblog.

hope this help.

Hi thanks for your reply. How can I assign a Joomla user group to a JomSocial user group? I don't see any way of linking them?

So just to clarify - I have created a new standard Joomla user group and made it under the parent 'Registered'. I also know where to change ACL settings for this - it's just linking this group with a JomSocial user group that I need to know how to do?

Thanks
Mo

Hi Mo,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply,

To be honestly, I'm not familiar with Jomsocial profile type, perhaps you can explain to me how Jomsocial profile type different level work?

If you look at our Easysocial profile type, it can allow the admin assign which Joomla user group to this particular profile type.
