Hello! I have a 3.8.3 Joomla site http://www.adisound.com that is running Easyblog 3.8.14406. I have just purchased the latest version but am not sure how to upgrade as your documentation has 3.7 and below to 5 and 3.9 to 5... What about 3.8? I want to make sure I don't lose anything..
Hi Patrick,

It is possible for you to create a staging site/test site which duplicate to your live site, so we can try out the upgrade from there first before you can perform it in the live site (for precaution).

Your cooperation is much appreciated

Thanks, Kelly

OK, I have backups of the site so here's what I did..
1. I just ran the installer and installed over the old version. No content was lost and everything worked except I keep getting emails (hundreds!) that there is a post that I need to approve, but there are none.. See below..
2. I restored the site to the old version and then I uninstalled easyblog and reinstalled the new version. Same as above..
Here is the email I am getting, a post from 2015!...

There is a new post requiring you to review
A post was submitted for you to review

The review post button goes to a broken link and there are no blogs to be reviewed in the backend.. Any thoughts? I have created a login for you if you send me your email address I will forward to you.

If I am not wrong this domain site (http://www.adisound.com) is your live site right?

If yes, I think it would be better you can roll back to your previous backup which Easyblog still running 3.8 version, because since you found out following issue :

1. there is a post that I need to approve, but there are gone now after upgraded

2. the system keep sending new moderation post email notification during upgrading

And i think the better way to investigate on this is provide us with your PHPmyadmin (database) access so I can export all the easyblog table then test upgrade into my localhost site.

If you agree with this, keep us update once you roll back your previous backup which EasyBlog still running 3.8 version on the site and provide us with your database access.

1. Site is live but I can restore quickly so please feel free to do whatever you need to fix this issue.
2. Site has been restored so we are at easyblog 3.8
3. You will see that 3.8 has over 500 pending requests to review blog posts from 2015 and it won't let me delete them. I don't care about these! Ok to delete these!
4. The email I get after upgrade is to review only 1 specific post and I get it every few minutes. With the new version I can delete all 500+ requests but I still get the email to review.
5. There are 24 blog posts that are live and I want to keep them if possible.

Thanks! Kelly

Alright, I will check on this issue on your live site directly.

It seems like you provided that `easyblog` user account doesn't have superadmin privileges so I was unable to view anything from your site backend Easyblog page and the backend installer page.

You can check my attached screenshot below.
