Hello,

I can't update Easyblog from the backend, so the updates are very heavy to manage.

What could I do?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

PhilJ
Hello PhilJ,

What did you mean by heavy to manage? Did you mean the file is cannot be uploaded thru backend? If so, you can try to install via direct which you can follow the steps here : http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/installation/installing-from-directory . Or you can let us install it for you by providing us the access to your backend and FTP.

Thank you for your answer.

What I call a 'heavy management' is exactly what is described in your link: http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/installation/installing-from-directory (= download a ~ 7 Mo archive + upload this archive to the Joomla tmp folder + install just like a new extension).

=> Is there a mean to make the update process I can see in the backoffice work easyly without this heavy (and frequent) management?

Thanks in advance,

jl (alias PhilJ)

Hello,

You can directly install it using Extension Manager via Upload Package file. But if the upload failed due to upload_max_filesize is too low, you can either consult with your hosting provider to increase it to at least 8M or install it via directory.

Hello,

Thanks for the new reply.

I know what you say (and the upload limit you are talking about is why I proceed like described in http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/installation/installing-from-directory).

That was not what I meant.

=> Please have a look at the attached screenshot. This is the enigma to me: what do I do to update Easyblog from *that* page in the backoffice (URL: administrator/index.php?option=com_easyblog&view=updater).

Thanks in advance for the solution, if there is one.

Hello Jacques,

Sorry for the confusion. All you have to do is click the update button and it will update your Easyblog. If you have any issue on this, you can provide us your backend and FTP access so we can have better look on this issue.
