Hello,

I have a client http://shoreeye.com/news/blog who hasn't been using <p> tags or <br> tags when creating posts, but he's interested in globally truncating his posts. When I turn on the truncating via words or characters, images still show, but script like this video are stripped until a reader goes to the full post:

<var style="width: 100%; padding-bottom: 56.25%; display: block;" data-presentation="a676114-41d2-423c-4835-4f824a9e4077"><a href="//eyemag.in/EdczdO" style="display: none;">View Video</a></var>
<script src="//showecho.com/whitelabel/embed_js" type="text/javascript"></script>

I'm wondering if there is a way I can make it so this code doesn't strip out? When the post is created using <p> tags, and is truncated as such, the code doesn't get stripped.

Thank you,
Hey Rod,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply,

I've tried to access in your blog frontpage but it seems like your server blocked our country access :

403: Access Forbidden
Your location (MY) has been blacklisted.

Can you unblock it and provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can better have a look?

By the way, in the future you can just include your site's access once at http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site rather than needing to keep adding them in your replies.

Ok, I unblocked all countries.

Also, if you need to login to the backend or ftp, here are the details

Updated in first post.

Hope to hear back from you.

Sincerely,

Stephanie H.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I've tried to access in your backend but I hitting following security pop up, can you provide us with this authentication required password as well?

But when you provide this password, you have put it on your first post (click on edit post button) then put into optional information field area (screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/XGVXedvoW ), so that it will secure your site details and other user will not able to see this section.

By the way, I already move your site details into first post optional information area and removed your site details into your previous reply.

Hi Arlex,

Added the rsfirewall pw in the optional messages area as you mentioned. Also, the post w/ the video script options is "What is a "Progressive" lens and do I need one?" It's the 2nd one down on http://shoreeye.com/news/blog.

The full article shows the video, just the truncated one has stripped it out.

Thank you,

Steph H.

hey Rod,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

I can access in your site now, and I noticed you using those custom script code for display that video in your blog instead of embed the video code through the easyblog media manager.

<div><var style="width: 100%; padding-bottom: 56.25%; display: block;" data-presentation="a676114-41d2-423c-4835-4f824a9e4077"><a href="//eyemag.in/EdczdO" style="display: none;">View Video</a></var>
<script src="//showecho.com/whitelabel/embed_js" type="text/javascript"></script>
</div>

Actually that was default behaviour, when you enable truncation setting, the system will strip out all the html code from the blog content and display the correct the truncated content in your frontpage.

Regarding this case, I would like recommended you use "Read more" feature from the editor, you can take a look of my attached screenshot and see how it work.

I already help you added 'read more' tag into this blog "What is a "Progressive" lens and do I need one?" , can you give it a check from your blog frontpage, it should show the video now.

Hope his help.
