dear stackideas team,

on my frontpage (latest news) template, the post do not truncate anymore.
i have the "jce - joomla editor" and character, etc truncate do not work.
it worked on the older versions, i guess since 5.1 (i have 5.1.11 now) the problems appeared

when i look into the database, the old - right displayed - posts have an empty "content" field.
the new posts, have just the same html as "intro"-field.
when i delete by hand the html out of the "content" field, it will be displayed all perfectly.

can you confirm this behaviour and could you deliver an update?

many thanks
bart

Hey Bart,

May I know which post you are referring to?

I took a look at the post 'Seensucht nach Abkühlung ohne Menschenmassen?' and it seems it has multiple readmore tags(http://take.ms/6QG3r).

Do note that readmore tags take precedence over truncation settings and are normally used when the author was to truncate the post at a specific section, instead of relying on the truncation settings.

Perhaps you can try remove those readmore tags and see if the truncation settings is being respected?

it s indeed this post, i didn't notice the multiple readmore before.
after the readmore, the whole post appeared again. so, i deleted all readmore and html.
when saving, another readmore and post content appeared again.
second time deleting works fine.
can this be an editor issue?

ok, i think i see the problem, if the readmore is added at the end and there is no "longtext", when saving the post it will add the whole intro text again.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

If the post doesn't have add any readmore tag, it will always store in `content` columns in this table #__easyblog_posts.

If the post contain readmore tag, it will store this above readmore tag content to `intro` columns.

By the way, may i know your issue is it resolved?
