Hi

Have a problem with configure the settings for easyblog and sh404sef for them to work probarly together.
Currently the installation is at subdomains like easyblog.mydomain.com but have issues with istallations on normal domains also so im sure i just set it up all wrong, and after tryed to change (what feels like( everything im lost and probarly mis confugered everything even more wrong.

Issue on sub number 1:

Installation is so home menu item is linked to front page layout (easyblog) and 5-6 other main menu items are linked to categories in easy blog. sh404sef is also installed, and i managed to get the latest post url right as in easyblog.mydomain.com/cat/title but then the menu links to the categories are shown as easyblog.mydomain.com/nameofcat/cat/listings.

sub2:

same installation practiually but without sef404sh and here the url is shown as easyblog.mydomain/entry/cat/title where the entry part i cant remove from the url, have tryed to change all settings in the settings > seo > both general and advanced.

The last issue is that i created a custom background in the template that is perfectly loaded on the frontpage, the cat pages but NOT when load a blog post.

I know i probarly misconfigured some things so a guide or hint would be appreciated, or if this is sh404 or template issues please let me know and ill try to talk to those guys
Hello Martin Fredskov,

Thanks for getting back to us quickly,

#1 and #2 issues :
>> I believe that Easyblog routing behaviour setting can achieve what your requirement here without SH404SEF component.
>> Can I have the permission to clear all the Easyblog SEF URL from SH404SEF component? So we can try only using Easyblog routing behaviour and see is it can achieve what your requirement here?
>> Can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you better have a look? Please advise.

#3. The last issue is that i created a custom background in the template that is perfectly loaded on the frontpage, the cat pages but NOT when load a blog post.
>> Can you elaborate more details regarding this issues? e,g which custom background in the template, menu item, which cat pages is not loaded blog post?
>> Please advise.

Hi

Regarding the background im not sure its a easyblog problem. But i use a shape5 template and made a custom background and added in there as usual, it shows on the main menu page "home" and on the menu items leading to cat overview, but when i click on a blog post no background are loaded.

Issue 1 and 2:

I would prefer if i could also get a fix to how they can work together, as i probarly add articels outside easyblog later on, and on the other sites i have both a blog and article and therefor use sh404sef

Informations added and you are allowed to do whatever you want as long as i get an solution to this i can use on future sites also

edit:

Im sure its a config problem as i seems to have the same kind of problems with url no matter if the installation are in blog.mydomain.com or in mydomain.com/blog, with joomla and easyblog or with all 3 (easyblog, joomla, sh404sef) i just havnt seen the light on how to set this up correct, yet!

Hello Martin Fredskov,

You're welcome, I have checked in your site, it seems like everything your template is set correctly, but I'm not sure why the entry page can't load in your template.
Because when i change to Joomla default template, everything is work fine.
did you consult with your template provider and see how it goes?

ok it seems to be a generel problem with the background that happends on all my templates (shape5 + easyblog), so guess ill have to talk to them.

About the url thing and sh404sef, i understand that you have turned sh404sef off witch is only a short time solution and now things are working.
What im getting a little irritated about is that i have standard setup from stackideas, shape5 and sh404sef and these are supposed to work together

From your fronpage:
Compatible
EasyBlog works smoothly with popular Joomla templates and themes from RocketTheme, JoomlArt, JoomShaper, BowThemes, ThemeXpert, GavickPro, YooTheme, Shape5, You!Joomla, JoomlaShack, JoomlaShine and more.

And
Search Engine Friendly
EasyBlog can support iJoomla SEO, sh404SEF, JoomSEF, MijoSEF, AceSEF and SEFAdvance to make your permalinks optimized for SEO purpose. To manage broken URLs, EasyBlog can also support Dynamic404 for redirecting broken links to the active ones.

I just feel a little irritated if i cant find a solution to make these work together simple as the intention was, the result is now that i have some software i cant use and a lot of wasted time..

Hello Martin,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply, we might have missed your post earlier. I am just wondering if your issues are resolved now or are you still experiencing issues with this? When I tried to click on the blog post on your site it does link me to the entry view at http://blog.billige-smartphones.dk/apps/apps-til-vm-i-brasilien-2014-fifa-com correctly.

I don't think there's an issue with your current setup just some conflicts maybe but I will need to look into this.

Hi Mark

No nothing is changed, it only works because sh404sef are disabled, and as you can see then the background still disapear when entering the blog post.
Im simple looking for a solution or a guide to make Easyblog work with sh404sef and shape5 as its supposed to do.

This problem has nothing to do with EasyBlog actually The reason why the background doesn't appear is because for some reasons SH404 is not prefixing the url with a / unlike Joomla. This is why when turning off SH404, it works.

In fact, your other pages would hit the same issue because you are using a relative url for your background image. I have modified the background image so that it uses an absolute path, and it works fine now.
