Hello,

I have Easyblog & Komento on the site, and hence, I disabled the builtin comments system of EB and instead enabled the integration with Komento but now I have:

(1) Rating stars etc displayed at the end of blogs but then I also have
(2) Rating stars & Comment Counts of Komento for the blog

Shouldn't the Komento Rating & Comments Counts Replace the EB builtin Ratings & Comments everywhere (for example, in Listing Layouts & SlideShows) since its not a third-party commenting component?

Otherwise, we might confuse the reader or if we hide the current builtin ratings from listings page or slideshows we then simply do not have them shown in the listing layouts & slidshows altogether?

Best regards,
Imran
Hi Imran,

Kindly find my response for your inquiries below:

-> For the comment counter, in EasyBlog it will only count the comment for the built in comment.
For the rating sytem, Komento and Easyblog have different rating system, where in EasyBlog it was rating for entry while in Komento the rating system stored in the comment section.

Hello Muhammad,

OK, I understand what you mean but its bit weird I'm afraid. Why would you have an option in the EB to integrate with Komento and why would someone have Komento rather than a third-party component if they both were going to do the same thing?

If we have Komento commenting component from the same company than we expect it to function in place of the builtin editor with more enhanced features. Komento should be able to do the job for EB & not sit there as a separate commenting component like other third-party components?

Regards,
Imran

Hello Imran,

The reason we have separated Komento and Easyblog is because, Komento has more feature than Easyblog's Builtin Comment system. In a case where user need those features from Komento, they can use Komento as their Comment system in Easyblog. But if they prefer a more simple feature of commenting system, they can stay with Easyblog's comment system.

With Komento as a separate component, this will also give ability for components other than Easyblog (such as K2, Joomla Article, Zoo) to integrate with Komento.
