1. Post Cover
If I make it 320*320 and crop, it gets no effects if the image is bigger. Another question is... why crop?! What about resizing?
And please, where is the option to switch post cover off?!




2. Media Manager, blocks and add post
I want to switch this off but can not find the basic setting for this. Settings -> media -> media manager activate -> no. This got no effect, the media manager is still inside the composer. And where are the settings for the other things in this menu?




3. Category selection inside the composer
Why do I have to select a category on the right side to be able to select it on the left side? This is very user un-friendly. I need a better one-selection-method. Also I do not understand the sense of this?!



4. Tags
I switched off each tag setting in the backend, but in the composer this option is still there. Why?




5. Dimensions and Fonts
Where can I switch these things off?



6. Templates
I do not need the templates, I want only one to have. But it is not possible to offer only one template without the need of users to select this. If I switch off templates, it is always the blank one, because it is not possible to make another template as the default one.
The template settings are useless because I can not use it for the basic things once again. I should be able to delete all templates and the one left should be the default one.



7. Posts screen and additional options
What is this? After being done with the composer, the user gets to this screen having these options. What are these options and where can I switch them off and why do they cause a error message?

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Please find the response to your inquiries below:


1. Post Cover

If it is cropped, there will not be a height. The height varies. If you chose to use "Full width", it will then stretch accordingly. To disable post covers, you can do so at Settings > Layout > Listings



2. Media Manager, blocks and add post

Currently it is not possible to switch off media manager but if you do not want to use the "Blocks", you can configure EasyBlog to use other WYSIWYG editor under Settings > General > Composer

Why do I have to select a category on the right side to be able to select it on the left side? This is very user un-friendly. I need a better one-selection-method. Also I do not understand the sense of this?!

EasyBlog has multiple categories support and because each category has it's own different layout settings and custom fields. Therefore, it needs a primary category. The selection beneath the title determines the primary category of the post and it cannot be disabled.


4. Tags

Currently there is no settings to hide the tags from the composer. I will add this in the next release

This cannot be switched off. If you do not want this, you shoulw see the response for #2 to switch to WYSIWYG editor.

Currently the templates are only available for the composer editor. If you switch to WYSIWYG editor based on my response #2, the templates would no longer appear.

Please don't feel guilty at all. It's our choice to reply you during the weekend and we try our best to resolve it. However, I only hope that this doesn't become an "expectation" because many customers expects us to answer during the weekend.

Anyway, please do find my response below:

Batch processing perhaps is a little too technical. It's actually a term of processing multiple items at once just like the term used in Joomla articles. It allows you to select multiple posts and perform specific actions to it.


I was afraid of opening 7 threads at once.

Oh, don't be afraid. We are more happy if you are able to split out your issues on separate threads. Each of our support members are trained to answer questions within 10 - 15 minutes unless it's a major or tricky issue. If you split up your threads, different moderators can work on your issues separately without dealing everything all at once. It's somewhat like micro management but not really managing

We are totally misunderstanding each other. I know what 'batch processing' means, but what exactly is processing?

I can only select 'batch processing' but nothing to be processed or I select copy instead of 'batch processing'. So I have no clue what I should do with an option that does not process anything and in addition gives an error. Even 'copy' makes no sense for me, because I can not think of any situation where a user might copy his blog post?!



You can see it here. There is nothing but 'batch processing' and 'copy' and no option to say what should be processed. Nothing happens if I select 'batch processing' and click on 'go' but if I select 'copy' and click on 'go' there comes the error message.

Hey Le Freak,

Oh dear, I am so sorry I missed your post earlier! Been extremely occupied with the beta of 1.4. Hm, the "Copy" feature is actually pretty similar to "Duplicate". Do you mean when you select copy, it does not get duplicate after you hit the submit button?

No problem.

When I select:

'batch processing' = Nothing happens (That is the reason why I do not understand the sense of this)
'copy' = Error message (Why should someone copy his post, I do not understand the reason for this option)

Hello Sabih,

I've tried to copy your post and I don't see any error. http://screencast.com/t/yLNC3UgMy However, this copy function might be helpful to other user as they want to make a copy of their blog as a backup.

As for the Batch processing, it does nothing is because it is not an action. It is actually a title for the dropdown selection. It should be something like this:

-- Batch Processing --
Copy
Publish
Unpublish
Delete

Hey Nik,

depending on that you copied my post, you were not logged in as a user but an admin. As a registered user you would not been able to copy my posts.
The menu you describe is an admin/moderator menu. But this appears to registered users as well and when logged in as a registered user, there is the error message.

Nevertheless, can you tell me the file this menu funtion is in so I can remove this menu manually? This copy function is awful because creating duplicated content with another permalink.
