I'm not sure if this has to do with my menu item setup, but I've configured a menu item with a type of Easyblog - (Posts) Frontpage. If I use any other type of easyblog menu item, the page on my frontend display loads. With this one (and the most important) type - I get a 'This webpage is not available error.'

ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

Do I need to tweak the settings somehow in my menu setup? Or did the component not install properly?
Hello Rosanne,

Can you provide us your backend and FTP access so we can have a better look on your issue here? Please advise.

Hello,
I'm afraid the site is currently in development mode on a local server - so we can't provide backend access at the moment.

Maybe more information will help you diagnose the problem:

I can access individual posts if I click through the module I've created on my homepage. I can also click on author names from that module, and they take me to the author pages. If I change the menu item to any other type- author view, category view etc. the page loads fine. It seems to be only the frontpage view that doesn't work.

So if I click on my menu item 'Let's Talk Libraries' where this menu item is stored, I get the error message you see in the attachment.

Any help is appreciated!

Hello Rosanne,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

I've tried to replicate the issue in my local instance by creating the same menu item and alias as your menu item with SEF turned on and it seems like the page is loaded correctly without any issue. Perhaps there is some issue with the sef url on your local instance that causing the issue. Can you try to turn off sef and see if the issue still persist?

Please advise.

Gave this a try - turned off SEF - refreshed, issue persisted.

Any other ideas?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Rosanne,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding your issue, is this issue happen only when you access EasyBlog frontpage? The 'ERR_CONNECTION_RESET' can caused by many reasons. May i know how you setup your apache web server at your local PC? Using some ready program such as XAMPP? Also, if your Joomla running on SSL?

Also, can you check if you've configured your EasyBlog category wrongly in a way where a child category was set as parent category itself? I've seen issue caused by misconfigured category the parent-child being assigned wrongly and caused infinity loop when loading EasyBlog frontpage.

To be frank with you, without accessing your site, We cannot tell what causing your issue. Maybe you can upload your site to a dev site so that we can access remotely to your site?

Please advise.

We'll work on getting access set up for you. It'll likely be early next week.

Thanks for all your help so far.

Okay - our site is now live and you can view the blog module at the URL I've attached below.

As you can see, I've set it up to display the latest post, since it will not display a frontpage view for the blog.

Hi Rosanne,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it was public holiday for all of here in Malaysia.

Hm, I am not seeing any of the site url or attachment in your last reply. Can you re-provide the the details again? If possible kindly provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can check on the issue first hand.

If you are requested to submit your site details, you may do so under the tab Site Details below. Please be rest assured that these information will only be visible to the support team from Stack Ideas. You can also store this in your site details area here, http://stackideas.com/dashboard/site to avoid having to enter these information multiple times.

Sorry about that!

Hey Rosanne,

It seems like there is some issues on the SQL query but I can't troubleshoot this with just a file manager and mijosql (Which is an extension that I installed to run some sql queries)

Is it possible for you to provide us with the FTP and phpmyadmin access to troubleshoot this?

Hi Mark,
could you please tell me which easyblog table in back end you want to check and searching for what? I am able to run any query.
unfortunately giving FTP access is not an option now.
Regards,

Hey Rosanne,

We need the FTP access to troubleshoot this unfortunately as we can't really tell where the issue is coming from ourselves unless we modify and edit the files on the site.
