Hello

I need to be able to limit what members have to buy this plan by user groups ACL (just registered members and not authors/editors)

Also would like that when a user want to upload a blog post they need to buy the subscription first before they get directed to the easyblog composer.

Currently, they have to fill out the EasyBlog composer then get asked if they want to purchase the package. Would be better the other way.

This would stop drafts being added to easyblog backend.

Thanks Adam
Hello Adam,

This sounds like a good idea and it seems feasible. Does this mean you want to restrict access to EasyBlog's composer altogether unless the user purchases a plan?

Yes, for general members

Users that are added to Joomla author group get free access

Hello Adam,

Sorry but just trying to understand this further. With the Joomla User Group app in PayPlans, you can assign users to a User Group when they purchase a plan. In EasyBlog's ACL you could configure the group to have access to compose a blog post. Would that be a solution already?

Ok, so I have a few different authors that work on the site, they need free access to upload blog posts.

Then everyone else would need buy a subscription to add a blog post.

Hm, in your scenario, what you can do is to assign these authors into the "Author" group, and perhaps add another Joomla user group called "Paid users" and assign permissions to users in this group within EasyBlog.

Then, when they pay for the plan, they get assigned to the "Paid users" group. Wouldn't that help you achieve your goal?

I have done something similar set up that works.

It would still be a good feature for other user to be able to accept payment for users to be able to add guest posts.

And users really need to add payment before being directed to the composer.

Hm, but isn't that the same concept as that? Buying a plan and get upgraded to a user group that has permissions to compose blog posts?

Yes it is, this post is very old.

It has taken 6 month to get a reply. In that time I figured out how to set it up the way I wanted.

It was just not very beginner friendly.

But you still need to change the way payplans and easyblog work together.

Users need to first buy a plan before being allowed to accesses easyblog composer.

Currently you end up with a heap of started blog posts by users that you need to delete.

Hello Adam,

This post was posted under the feature requests section (non supported) and this is why we do not immediately respond to your request. We will pick up features to be worked on in the upcoming release and this is one of the posts that I think is already achieve-able with the existing PayPlans - EasyBlog integrations.
