Dear Sirs,
I am using your PDF component of EasyBlog. On the Desktop the PDF is displayed within a frame where I can download, view, print and more.
On a mobile device such as iPad, iPhone etc. it will be displayed as a strange Image and can't be downloaded anymore. Where I can Change this behaviour? Before some of your updates it was displayed as a link and not as a strange Image of it.

Please help me to Change the properties so that and PDF will be shown as links again.

Best regards, Chris
Hi Chris,

Are you referring to the pdf block in EasyBlog's built-in composer?
On a mobile device such as iPad, iPhone etc. it will be displayed as a strange Image and can't be downloaded anymore.
Can you provide us a screenshot of the issue as I am not able to replicate this currently.

A link to the page experiencing this issue would be great too.

Hey Chris,

This is what I'm seeing in mobile for the provided link(http://take.ms/isoo7).

I tap on the link and it did open correctly on mobile device(http://take.ms/P1YWfc).

Am I missing something here?

Hello again

When I installed EasyBlog a while ago in the mobil device it was showing a link to be able to download the file not the Image. What if I have 50 pages in the pdf?

On the Desktop the pdf was shown in the Frame.

Now this obviously has changed.

I would like to Show the link instead of the Image as on the iPad the image it's squeezed and it's Kind of blocking to scroll through the post.

Thank you very much indeed.

Hey Chris,

Perhaps we can try this.

In the file JoomlaFolder/components/com_easyblog/themes/wireframe/blogs/blocks/pdf.php, add the word download to the line indicated in the screenshot(http://take.ms/F3C51).

The download link in mobile view should open the file download now. You have to try this on newly added pdf blocks. It will not work on existing pdf blocks.

Also, if you wish to maintain this change, you have to template override this file at JomolaFolder/templates/current_template/html/com_easyblog/blogs/blocks/pdf.php (create directory and file if they do not exist).

I have implemented the Change according to your description. Please see attached file.

I then created a new PDF Block - but ist still the same for the view on the iPad.

What else can i do?

Hey Chris,

May I know on your iPad, is the download button showing? or the pdf preview window?

On the iPad - there is no download button and no preview window - just a squeezed Image as it was before with the other 2 components on that page.

Hey Chris,

Can you provide me the screenshot from your iPad? This is what I see on browser's iPad simulator(http://take.ms/GI1bZ).

Also, may I know if the pdf block is working properly on other devices, eg. mobile device?

Hey Chris,

I am able to replicate this on your site, but not on my local instance where the download button is showing.

Also, I could not replicate the issue on mobile(http://take.ms/V9fzO, tested on iphone 6s plus). Perhaps different browsers have different behavior, you can try on Chrome, Firefox and Safari to see if any of them works for now.

Can you provide us the backend and ftp access to your site so we can investigate this on your site?

I have tested for Browsers on iPad - Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Google. All the same.

Will prepare the Access for you. You will be back on Monday right?

Best regards, Chris
