Hello, I'm attempting to set-up a blog using EasyBlog5. When composing the blog item, I am selecting an image for the cover that has an original image of 450x605 (attached).

I set the image settings for the cover photo to "Small" and the image size to 248x368. I also have image popup not checked as I don't want a popup of the image.

The blog entry I've made this change for is "Barolo". It doesn't appear that the cover image is changing from it's original size. I'm also including a screenshot showing the image chosen for the cover in the Shared Media location...

Edit: Is it possible to edit the properties of a cover image without deleting it and adding it back again? I wasn't able to figure out how to edit the properties of an existing cover image...

Please help!
Hey Allan,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. I am sorry for the confusions here, you actually can't set the properties of a post cover because post covers should be determined by the theme itself. The entire reason that we created a post cover is to ensure that the layout looks good regardless of what photo is uploaded by the author. Imagine if your authors are given the authority to alter the sizes of your post covers, the blog would definitely look really messy

What you should do instead if you want to customize the size of the post cover, is to utilize css to alter the width / height. Since post covers are standardized across all posts, you only need to define them once.

Hi Mark and thanks for the reply. I'm relatively new to Joomla! and definitely new to EasyBlog - so i wasn't sure about the purpose of a post cover.

I'm in the process of moving a website I created using DotNetNuke (you can see it at thewinebaril.com). With Joomla articles you can specify an intro image and a full article image. Are there fields like this in EasyBlog?

What I'm wanting to do is associate an image with each blog post that would appear in the blog view like in the attached screenshot. I know it could add the image to the HTML of the blog post, but my preference would be have my user upload an image associated with the blog entry and have it automatically re sized to no more than 250 px wide and float left like in the screenshot.

Hey Allan,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. When you compose your blog post, notice that there's an "Add Cover" button at the top as you can see from my screen shot here, http://screencast.com/t/nWpW2Far1Jw . Defining a "Post Cover" will ensure that EasyBlog uses this image as the "primary image" for your blog post. This includes using the image in your listings (intro) as well as the image for the entry page as well.

What differentiates DNN with EasyBlog is that, DNN offers a way for you to define a separate image for intro and separate image for entry. While it does offers "extra attributes", your authors would be pretty confused in my opinion since they need to understand the logics behind having an image for the intro and the full text.

Does this make sense to you now?
