Hi guys - we are going live this weekend with a new development (that pulled 900 plus blogs from Wordpress into Easyblog) and the URL is the final thing we are looking at. I hope this is a basic question (maybe a joomla question) - but the URL structure on the old site is:

https://bonelaw.com/charles-robert-bone-named-nashville-business-journal-power-100/

Our current URL in Joomla (development account is)

http://bearhosting.com/~lawlifepassion/index.php/in-the-news/charles-robert-bone-named-nashville-business-journal-power-100

So when we go live - the /in-the-news is the only issue we have with Google's indexing of these blogs...

Do you know of a way to get the /in-the-news out of URL - so they match exactly the same and we don't loose any search engine link traffic?

Cheers,

Peter
Hey Peter,

Hm, the only way around this is to set your home menu item to EasyBlog's frontpage layout. This way, the URLs generated would be similar to what you had in Wordpress.

If there is a different menu item on the site that links to EasyBlog, Joomla would then add the menu alias into the URL.
