I'm using the internal commenting system and I don't want guests to be allowed commenting but when I turn it off I want a message to show like "To comment please login". Am I missing something or is it suppose to show nothing if guests are not allowed? I want them to want to register and login to comment. I hope you understand what I'm getting at.
Hey Nina,

Ah yes. That particular message only appears when you can't view and add comments. When you can view comments, you wouldn't see that message.

Perhaps if you want to allow viewing of comments but show that message, you can download the attached file and upload it into /components/com_easyblog/themes/wireframe/comments/default.php

With this hack, if they are allowed to view but not allowed to post comments, that message would be rendered.

Hey Nina,

Do you mean you want something like this, http://take.ms/jsfFo ? You can edit the ACL for the "Public" group and disable the comments permission as you can see here, http://take.ms/hfu22

Hi, I thought I had already tried that.. But looking more closely at your first image and seeing this message:

"Comments are not available for public users. Please login first to view / add comments"

I'm thinking perhaps I can't allow viewing but not adding? Do really have to deny both? in order to get the login message?

And guys, your support is as always excellent!

Thank you so much, I made an override of the comments/default.php and it works perfectly. Thank you for offering the best support ever!
