Happy to see that with the 5.0.17 update you now have a Components > EasyBlog > Settings > Layout > Cover, options.

But there is no way to chose "None" for cover list and/or entry??? What are you thinking? Why would not this be the must needed and obvious setting to have here?

And while we are at it. Is there a setting to show eg. first 100 characters in listing view? The way it is now users must remember to insert "Read more" block to have a good listing view, but most users forget this...
Hey Torgrim,

It seems like that was a small bug, can you download my attachment file and replace in JoomlaFolder\components\com_easyblog\themes\wireframe\blogs\entry\post.cover.php .

After that re-save the settings from your backend > Easyblog > settings > layout > post options > save

Hope this helps.

Hey Torgrim,

You can set `Crop Post Cover` to No and set to Use Full Width, so it will use back system default post cover size.

The reason why we include this as settings is because we would like provide an option to our customer, so that they have a choice to adjust their post cover or use back the system default.

And while we are at it. Is there a setting to show eg. first 100 characters in listing view? The way it is now users must remember to insert "Read more" block to have a good listing view, but most users forget this...

You can set truncate number of the character from your backend > Easyblog > settings > layout > truncation , I will explain there got 2 section for the truncation :
Automated Truncation (Composer Posts) - if you using Built-in Easyblog composer, the truncation is look for this setting.
Automated Truncation (Normal Posts) - if you using Joomla default editor, the truncation is look for this setting.
Hope this helps.

Hi Arlex, and thank you for your answer.

I do not think you understand.
I would like to have the cover image show up in list view, but not in entry view. Why is there no "None" setting in Cover settings?

Thank you for the tip on truncation. Hope to see a word-truncation option in future versions of EasyBlog.

Hi Torgrim,

You can hide cover image for entry view by going to your backend > easyblog > category > select the category that the blog post are associated with > post options > show post image set to "No", http://screencast.com/t/E41SLLzAy . Hope these help.

Thank you for your answer Ezrul, and sorry - this does hide the cover image from entry post view, but you get this space with popup button that looks strange in the post. See attached image.

I have added the following css to my custom.css template file to hide:
.eb-image-popup-button {display: none !important;}

Hey Torgrim,

Are you on 5.0.17 ? I believe the reason that you are getting what you provided on your screen shot is because the "width" of the post cover is set to 0. You can check this in Settings > Layout > Post Cover

Hi Mark,

It was set to 1 (Post Entry) (see attached image). If I set it to 0, same, if I set it to anything higher than 20, image shows up.

As I have said, I would like to have an option to not have any cover image in post entry and/or post list. Why would I have all my blog posts start with an image? If the users want the blog post to start with an image, they should put it in there in blog edit mode.

For my blog I would like to have the cover image show up in blog list view (same size for all). Looks nice and professional.
But for blog post, I would like to show ... the blog post. Not force an image on top of each and every blog post.
