As the title says. I don't have an 'Add Block' when am in edit mode. I have to say that there has seem to be so much thought put into the technical side of things and from your videos it is clear to see that you have some thing special going on. However, you have created a product that makes a user feel less than confident which is about the last thing you should do.

So far I am extremely disappointed.
Hello David,

Please check your editor preference in Joomla > User Manager > *David Judah* > tab "Basic settings"
You might "force" an editor in EB5 with this setting...

Hi David,

The composer is a new concept of editing, designed to make editing fun and simpler but of course in reality currently it is not. Since it is a new product, SI team has to work on bugs and UI design. If I may suggest, let's be more objective rather than frustrated by letting SI team know what's our setup is, like version of Joomla, version of current installed EB, steps or settings we did why things is happening. In fairness to SI Team, they are fast in trying to answer our post and fix our issues. No other Joomla Component developer in my experience have done this awesome customer support.

Please don't get me wrong, I am not trying to correct you. I am also as much frustrated as you with Composer, I have issues with it too. I am trying to make it work with both Joomla 2.5 and Joomla 3.4.1 and it behaves differently in my setup.

By the way, if you upgraded your EB to v5 and you already have postings in it, I just noticed that when editing an existing post not created with composer it will not load composer.

Thanks,

Jackson

Dear Jackson,

Thank you for your kind words. I am running:

Joomla 3.4.1
EasyBlog 5.0.13

While I understand that SI team are doing their very best to deliver a quality product I fail to understand how they can launch one that does not work. The composer is the main selling point (for me at least), and it simply is not there...

Hi Guys,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here and sorry for heard that you guys feel extremely disappointed for our new composer.

First I'm apologize about our documentation didn't draft it properly so let you guys feel confused why the composer didn't show out in edit mode when upgraded from Easyblog 3.9.

At here, I would like to clarify one point is if upgraded your Easyblog from 3.9 version, those old blog post is called "Legacy post", what is "Legacy post" mean is those blog post created by using Joomla default editor e.g. Tiny-MCE, JCE, JoomlaCK or etc.

So when you edit the "Legacy post", the composer will not show out is because :
- prevent messed up your existing blog post content, different editor also have their different output.
- Example: First if I using composer and added a lot of block (e.g embed Soundcloud block, HTML block or else) in my blog post, but second day I feel composer is not good enough, so now I change to use Tiny-MCE editor, this tinymce editor do not know how to render the composer block content styling. so our system will check if the blog post first time created using the Joomla default editor, the composer will not show out.

Hi David, I've checked in your site, i believe those existing blog post is created from Easyblog 3.9, so when you edit the post, the composer will not show out, unless you create a new blog post, so it will show out the composer.

Thanks getting back to us your issues resolved Richard.

But i believe anyone here do not have good experience on this new composer, also, please don't hesitate to share with us any doubt you have, we will try our best to to solve you guys facing some issues currently. By the way, I would personally prefer that you start a new thread instead.

Dear Arlx,

Thank you for your response. I am afraid you did not deal with my query which states clearly that there is no composer whether editing an old post (which makes total sense), and unfortunately when creating a brand new one.

I would imagine you would check that when you logged in to my site.

Hello David,

Which particular post were you trying to edit? If the post was created from 3.9, it has to load a legacy editor because the format of the content is not compatible with the new composer. If the post was created with the new composer, when you edit it, it will then load up with the new composer.

I tried to create a new post on your site and it does render the new composer as you can see here, http://screencast.com/t/fKp5J9Yx

Am I understanding your issues correctly here?

Dear Mark,

Thank you for your response. When I try to create a new post I only see the image below and not what what you obviously see

http://postimg.org/image/wud5arw4n/

I tried it on Safari and Chrome and I see the same thing in both browsers

Hi Supporter,

Thank you for your comment. There is no additional editor choice other than the ones I have installed.

Why don't you try to create a new user account for yourself and see how it goes?

Thanks for sharing this Supporter That explains why you are seeing a different editor than me since the account that you provided us uses the "default" editor.
