Hi,

My Easyblog maps work but the Location dialogue box doesn't allow me to add specific co-ordinates.

I want to create a tree map and need to add specific co-ordinates, not street addresses but the Composer (Location box) won't find them. Do I need to enable Static Maps or change settings or is it an override issue (I don't think there are any overrides for the location box at the moment).

eg. As an example, I want to add
-37.525580, 145.516567
as a co-ordinate to the page Redan Rd Great Manna but the system won't allow it.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Cheers, David
Hi David,

I have checked around and found that unfortunately none of Google map's api support exact coordinate search, which is why the result will show the nearest readable address(http://take.ms/0gxqb).

Thanks Raymond,

You may be right but I haven’t found anything on Google’s developer platform that confirms this.

This page suggests that doing a reverse coordinate lookup may be possible:
https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/reference/3/coordinates

Google has been changing things around a lot re map APIs and haven’t had a good look around yet but I assume this functionality may still be available, I think devs will just have to allow a specific API to enable this.

If you’re right, could you create a switch to enable Mapbox in the EB location settings so site admins have an alternative?

Thanks for the info David. I have tried enabling a number of APIs in google console but the coordinate results functionality is still not working. You can always try enabling more APIs to test this if you want.

Other than that, I would suggest that you start a feature request for the coordinate search results functionality, and another for the integration with Mapbox.
