hey jochen,
are you using english as default language for your whole joomla site? if so, then also easyblog should correctly show up in english.
If you set your main joomla language to german but want only the easyblog extension to use english language you need to remove the german language files from your server. for the frontend you can find these at yourjoomla/language/de-DE and for the backend they're located at yourjoomla/administrator/language/de-DE (just remove the files that contain easyblog in the name, for example de-DE.com_easyblog.ini)

in general then this is what will happen: the system dectects german as your main language, then it will look into the german language folders to serve the correct strings - if these files can't be found then the system falls back to english and will serve the english files for easyblog while you can still have other parts of your site in german.
