I was trying to use some of the Easyblog modules, to display a list of easyblog posts. I had two problems.

Firstly, the tree option did not display a tree in the sense of expanding a list of posts under each category (it may have shown subfolders of sub categories, but I didn't have any, so that might be what was meant as tree view). All I could do was show a list of categories/folders, but not an expanded list in any way with posts shown for each category, unless the person actually clicked on the category and saw a page showing lots of posts.

Second, when I opted for an Easyblog sidebar module with a list of all easyblog posts, it showed all Joomla articles too. When I tried in the easyblog module to 'include' only content which was in the shortlist of a handful of categories (which only contain easyblog posts), it only showed Joomla articles (uncategorized) until I removed that category - then it showed none. It seems that the Joomla category filter does not work on Easyblog categories. It is therefore not possible to filter the easyblog posts using the Joomla filtering (ignore, include, exclude) to show only certain categories of posts.

What I'm trying to do is to show a complete list of posts, collapsible by category. At the moment, I can only show the list of categories, which need to be clicked to see what is in each list. Ideally, I'd like a sort of menu in the sidebar where all categories and posts could be viewed without leaving the current page. Any thoughts how to do that?

Thanks
Hello John,

Firstly, the tree option did not display a tree in the sense of expanding a list of posts under each category (it may have shown subfolders of sub categories, but I didn't have any, so that might be what was meant as tree view). Yes, this is the behavior. We only want to display the categories.

Second, when I opted for an Easyblog sidebar module with a list of all easyblog posts, it showed all Joomla articles too.

May I know what module you are referring to?

What I'm trying to do is to show a complete list of posts, collapsible by category.

I'm sorry but currently, we don't have module that meets your requirement here. However, you can write it in our Voices page here: http://www.stackideas.com/voices/easyblog and our developers will get back to you.
