Hi guys - what is the status for Automatic Updatings - we have around 30-40 clients using Easyblog and we have to updated each account manually everytime you do a new release.... this is a royal waste of our time - we use Watchful but still have to step thru the manual process. We are very conservative about installing this on new clients sites now due to this issue...

Do you have a long term plan to address this - love your produce but not the maintenance that goes with it.

Cheers,

Peter
Hey Peter,

The single click updater is introduced in EasyBlog 5.2. If you are already on the latest version of EasyBlog, the single updater would work. However if their sites are still on the 5.1.x releases, it does not have the single click updater.

We are using watchful to update EasyBlog too

Hey Mark - works great for the 5 domains listed in my Developer License - does not work for the remaining accounts - so can you increase the domains for the Developer License?

Cheers,

Peter

Hey Peter,

Hm, there are no limit for Developer license. The automated updater will work on as many domains as you have as long as you have a developer license.

Hey Peter,

I think that error you are getting is because of a bug in the installer plugin and you could easily fix this by re-uploading with the launcher again.

No problem Peter. Keep me updated on this because I just tested this, and it does work so long as I have a developer subscription. I specifically got the team to fixed the bug with the developer contract detection more than 6 months ago.

The other bug we faced was the initial couple of releases where the installer had a bug (my bad!) as it was trying to connect to a non existent update server as I was running some tests and completely forget about that. If you did not use a new launcher, the single click updater can never work since it will never be able to retrieve the latest updates :x
