Viewing a post created for the public found on our website, I notice that the system shows three links (follow author, add as friend and message author) even for guest users. Although the system does not active these links for guest users based upon my system settings, having the links appear can be confusing since users presume if a link is visible it should allow the action. Two solutions...remove the links shown in the screen capture and noted above for guest users if the system requires users to be logged in to post comments, and access community -and/or - if the system configuration allows registration during these three actions (follow author, add as friend and message author) take the user to the login/register screen similar to the current function for comments.

Please advise solution.

Hi there,

Thank you for the heads up on this issue. I've applied the fix inside your /components/com_easyblog/themes/wireframe/blogs/entry/author.php and it should be working correctly now. The fix will be included in the next release of easyblog.

Thanks so much for your prompt solution.

Could you tell me how to add an easysocial (sign-out) link to my menu found in the header or better yet in my off canvas menu. Unless a user figures out how to navigate back to easysocial and select the user drop down from the social tool bar - the method to sign-out is unkown for most users. Specifically if the user navigates away from social to easyblog, Discuss (my menu item "support") no sign-out option is available on these pages.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Hi Tkabe,

You are most welcome. Glad that your issue has been resolved now.

Regarding on the sign out menu, there are numerous way to achieve this but the simplest way is to add easysocial logout menu item where you can make the menu item to appear only for registered user. You can find the menu from your menu manager > create menu item > menu item type > easysocial > logout action, http://screencast.com/t/8Qu7eBSf7

You can also try to use easysocial dropdown module where it will display login dropdown form as well logout button when user already logged in. You can find the module from your backend module manager and search for easysocial dropdown menu, http://screencast.com/t/rKryKVFra1g and set the module to appear on your top menu or your off canvas menu.

Ezrul,

Thanks for the details regarding adding a sign out option. I have two bugs to report regarding adding EasySocial features with drop down characteristics in off canvas position. It appears if the feature includes a drop down capability as noted below, the drop down feature does not work. Log-in as a registered user to my site - see saved site details and check out the off canvas menu. I setup two modules noted below as a test for you to review. See the screen capture for details.

Issue 1: I tried using Easy Social Menu - Avatar and Name will appear however the sign-out option - I presume available from a drop down menu does not appear.

Issue 2: I tried using the Easy Social Drop Down Menu - Avatar and Name will appear however the sign-out option - in a drop down menu does not appear.

Issue 3: I was successful using your description to add a menu item in an existing menu.
