Hi,

I recently set up a module that allows hashtagged posts from Easysocial to be added to Easyblog posts.

I just created a couple of new posts - when I add the hashtag in the edit post screen and push enter, the hashtag counter adds the tag but it then disappears from view. Also, the hashtags no longer appear on the publicly viewable posts.

Please fix.
Hi there,

It seems that this is know issues on our current EasyBlog version. I have issues this to our developer and it will be included on our next release version. Thanks for your understanding.

No worries. Thanks for letting me know. Probably would have been useful to know this before upgrading. Guess I can always back up my site

Hi Warith,

Thanks for fixing this! Just want to confirm - as I mentioned, I just restored a week old backup from Akeeba and so am now running old versions of Easyblog (5.0.42) and Easysocial (2.0.10).

If you've just made changes to my live site with the old versions - and if I now update - I'm afraid your changes will be lost. Is this right?

What's the best way to go about fixing this from here?

Cheers

David

Yes you are. If you update, those changes will be override to it latest version. You have to backup this file administrator/components/com_easyblog/includes/post/post.php first and then replace them again after you update/upgrade to it latest.

Hi,

I updated both modules using Joomla Update. After updating, when I opened EasyBlog, the black Install EasyBlog screen/interface opened up and instead of clicking continue (I did this last time, went through the 5 steps and it deleted my EB post templates), I cancelled the operation. I did the same with EasySocial.

Both components seem to have updated to the latest version (I checked the version numbers), but it looks like the new EasyBlog modules were not installed.

After updating, I checked the directory where you added the post.php file (see your post above), and it seems the file you pasted was not deleted. Also, to test the system, I created new EB posts and the hashtag feature seems to be working.

A couple of questions:

1. Should I have gone though the full install process or did I do the right thing by using the Joomla Update service?

2. Seems like I missed out on useful EB modules being installed, how do I install these? Did I miss anything else being installed via ES?

Cheers

Dave

Hi Dave,

You should not cancelled it as it supposed to works that way. You have to go through those steps, to make sure your upgrade working. In case you need help, maybe i can have your permission to update/upgrade them for you. If yes, can you provide us with valid credentials as i cant access your site using given credentials.

1. Should I have gone though the full install process or did I do the right thing by using the Joomla Update service?

It's should be not a problem if you using these method. Both doing the same job, to update/upgrade your site.

2. Seems like I missed out on useful EB modules being installed, how do I install these? Did I miss anything else being installed via ES?

If you not completed your installation, it should not override your existing module on your site. Maybe you can try to re-update/install your site again and see how it goes.

Note:
Make sure you done full backup on your site first.
