Hi,

I've tried several times to download the Easyblog app, but I keep receiving this message;

Warning

JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find Joomla XML setup file

Would you be able to help me identify what the problem is?
Hello Rukaiya,

You actually need to install this app via EasySocial's application installer rather than Joomla's Extension Manager To access the installation screen, go to EasySocial > Applications > Install

Thank you so much!!! That worked like a charm.

I have another quick question. I have the "notes" app installed for my users but cant find a link for them to add new notes. Do I need to install another plugin for that?

Hello Rukaiya,

Currently user can only create the note by going to their dashboard > applications widget on the left side bar. Refer screenshot here, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-03-12_1824.png

Hope these help

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I don't have the link/button in your screenshot above. It doesn't show up when I'm on the notes page. Is there a setting in the backend somewhere to enable it?

Hello Rukaiya,

It seems like you not enabling "Display Applications" from your backend > easysocial > themes > wireframe > dashboard, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-03-12_1923.png

However when I enabled the options, something is messing up your dashboard area and the applications listing is not showing. By the way the provided FTP access is not working for me.

Can you provide us with the correct FTP credentials so we can check further on your site? Please advise

Hi Ezrul,

Thanks for looking into this. I've attached my site details. The notes link is missing AND the toolbar for Easyblog (via the user's profile).

On a separate topic, could you also have a look at the settings for my cron job (or do I need to start a new topic)? I've followed all the instructions but there are still emails sitting in the backend... so confused :-(

Hello Rukaiya,

The provided FTP credentials is not working for me. Can you provided the correct ftp and also the correct FTP url so we can further check on your site?

Since the notes applications is different than the default name on your site, I suspect you might have done something on your site internally. May I know if you done some customization on your site that involved easysocial component? Please advise

Hi Ezrul,

Please try the login details now - should work this time.

I only customized the wording for Easysocial (i.e. via template/language). Not sure if that explains why the EasyBlog toolbar is also missing though. I appreciate your help on this!

Hello Rukaiya,

The reason why the toolbar isn't appearing for public users is because of the ACL. I have enabled the acl "Access Toolbar" for the "Public" group and it works fine now for guests

The ftp which you have provided is still not working and like my colleague suggested, we believe that there has been some html codes being modified which causes the layout to mess up. We need to check this via FTP.
