How can I get the URLs to EasyBlog posts to be shorter? I see the URL settings in EasyBlog --> Settings --> SEO --> Permalinks, but this still makes for a long URL. How can I configure EasyBlog to make URLs in the format of: http://mysite.com/blog/title-of-post ?
Currently, the default setting yields: http://mysite.com/component/easyblog/entry/menu-item/title-of-post

Thanks,
Ari
hey ari,
when you're at this seo settings page have a look at the option "simple".
this will generate urls in the format yoursite.com/menu/title and should fit your needs.

hope that helps and have a nice day

I'm having this issue, but with the facebook and twitter auto sharing.

The link it posts to twitter and facebook is the long one (in my case http://www.newenglandone.com/component/easyblog/?view=entry&id=10)

How can I fix this?

OK, that helps.
It takes the url from http://mysite.com/component/easyblog/entry/menu-item/title-of-post
down to
http://mysite.com/menu-item/blog/title-of-post
Would still be helpful to have an option to customize the url further. For example, to get rid of "menu-item" in the above example (or even to change "blog" if desired). Would be nice to be able to have http://mysite.com/blog/title-of-post or http://mysite.com/custom-text-here/title-of-post
But your suggestion does help, thanks.

Hello Ari,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Hm, you can actually easily change this by editing the menu alias when you edit the menu on your site.

The menu alias is only for the menu item the EasyBlog is on, it does not affect whether the parent menu item displays. So, in the above example, the menu alias could turn http://mysite.com/menu-item/blog/title-of-post into http://mysite.com/menu-item/custom-text-here/title-of-post but it cannot help with getting to http://mysite.com/blog/title-of-post or http://mysite.com/custom-text-here/title-of-post
So far, the only way I see to do this is to put the EasyBlog on a top-level menu item, but this does not make sense with my site's menu structure

Hello Ari,

Ah, yes that is unfortunately unavoidable unless you use a custom SEF extension. Joomla actually builds the URL based on your menu structure but I think there could be other work around from template providers. I have seen some template clubs setting a dummy menu just for this but that was for Joomla 2.5, not sure if it is possible on 3.x
