Hello,

When I update Easyblog from 5.1.8 to 5.1.9, system becomes no response, stop at "initializing Admin Files", and result in Easyblog page crashed, almost all buttons are failed.

This is quite annoying since there are readers and blogger keep accessing to the website, and complain about this.

Could you kindly help to solve this problem?

Meanwhile, please kindly let me know is there any better way to update the Easyblog next time? Because I had also tried full package, launcher, and all result in the same situation.

Thanks,
That is totally different issue, i did explained at my previous reply.
The "-1 Copy Failed" error is a common Joomla error when your site's file/folders permission aren't correct somehow.

Mean when it trying to override those latest files into your file directory folder then hitting file permission.

if you didn't provide us with your FTP user access, that was difficult for us to troubleshoot this.

Perhaps you can try temporary rename those following folder then try upload the launcher installer from your backend installer page.

JoomlaRootFolder/administrator/components/com_easyblog_bak
JoomlaRootFolder/components/com_easyblog_bak
JoomlaRootFolder/media/com_easyblog_bak

It seems like you hitting this error :

An error has occurred.

-1 Copy file failed

The problem was indeed an file owner/group problem. You consult with your Webhosting provider to help you check the file permissions and chown for all files and folders to the correct owners on your server? All files need to be writable by the webserver user.

But before you consult with your hosting provider, perhaps you can provide us with your FTP access so I can help you check it now?

Thanks for your reply.

(1) From the post (https://stackideas.com/forums/easyblog-5-1-8-amp-pages-issue-in-related-post) you had installed a file browser on my website, could you kindly use it to solve this problem?

(2) I just don't realize why there is an error, since the update process was quite successful before 5.1.9. So, please kindly let me know which folder leads to this problem.

Thanks.
