Dear Sirs,

Easyblog 5.1.8 - how to set the tags Module up so that it can distinguish between languages?
It was a known issue in 5.0 - then they said that it will be included in 5.1 but know I can't see how to filter out only the tags for a specific language as it really doesn't make any sense to show different languages as it is just useless.

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards, Chris
Hello Chris,

Tags does not support multi lingual as of yet. Currently only posts and categories supports multiple languages.

Hello,

I have submitted this issue last year and it was mentioned that it will be incorporated in 5.1.

EasyBlog is a fascinating tool which says it supports multilingual sites. But if a very important module like TAGS does not support it in a Version 5.1 of a Software then I think it's pretty important to implement.

Thank you for your assistance as it's really needed.

Best regards, Chris

Hello Chris,

Thank you for your input on this but I believe there is a misunderstanding here. We have never promised that we will incorporate this feature into EasyBlog 5.1 as mentioned by Arlex on https://stackideas.com/forums/tags-in-easyblog-not-language-aware . However, we did implied that we will try to see if we can add this into the core as it has a lot more complexity when composing the blog post.

Also, your post was posted on February 8th 2017 and not last year.

Thank you very much Mark for your answer.

Yes it was this year and yes it was said that it might be added in 5.1 - sorry about pushing you a bit.

However please know the importance for a multilingual site. Why to list Terms which People not even understand? It's just cluttering everything up.

It's the same when you choose CATEGORY BASED - I select an English Category like TRAVEL but the Tags still Show up in another language even though These Terms have never been used on TRAVEL but on REISEN.

The same with CALENDAR. Also not Multilingual. As a post is a single relationship with Language it can be easily filtered. Even with Tags as these are 1:Many with a post which has a distinct language set.

So should be really easy to implement.

Thank you for your solution.

Best regards, Chris

I understand where you are coming from and certainly implementing it is only as easy as adding an input when you create or edit the tags from the back end but the complication arises when you compose or select your blog post because it wouldn't make sense for an author to define all of these behavior of a tag and it will be complicated to implement in that sense.

I cannot promise you that this can be added in the next minor release but we'll see what we can do

Thank you very much Mark :-)

A post has different Categories and different Posts. The Categories have a language component, The Tags should have one too.
When a user enters Tags they will be automatically added to the language which is associated with the categories or the post.

I also could add tags like categories in advance and then they just Show up....

From a user perspective I don't see why it should be more complicated as with categories. 1:Many-Realtions in both cases.

Thank you anyway for your efforts. Much appreciated.

Best regards, Chris
