I now have a widget on the page which I would like to remove for all users.

You would have to disable the plugin System - EasyArticles, but note that it if it's disabled, editing articles will not redirect to EA's composer(http://take.ms/QkVKv).

If I wanted to disable EasyArticles completely how would I do this?

You can disable all the related items in Joomla's extension manager(http://take.ms/1A1qt).

Remember to unpublish all related menu items as well.
