Easy Social Display Sort Order

Hi,

I note the display sort order indexing set by the ES>Settings>users allows for sort/index by "real name" however the sort method is currently sort by first name first letter not last name first letter. I am not sure of traditions world-wide however in the United States the tradition is sort by last name or would be appropriate if required globally.

If traditions globally conform to sort by last name, then how can we edit the system settings PHP to update the sort method to sort by last name rather than first name?

This issue also impacts the group members list and the "add group member dialog".

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Currently the sorting for user listing page is based on ES > Settings -> Workflow -> User listings -> default sorting. If you choose to sort by 'alphabetically', then EasySocial will sort based on the 'name display format'. If the display format is 'real name', then EasySocial will sort based on jos_users.name column.


And for the 'Name indexing format', this setting is not being used for sorting. This setting is to tell the ES's user smart search plugin which name format to index into Joomla smart search

As for the member listing in the group page, currently there is not sorting on the name We will see if we can add the sorting option into Group's member app or not so that admin can decide what sorting to apply in member listing
