Hello
We have reproduced the following behavior with EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss:
During the install process if the browser window is closed or even if the tab is closed the installer stays on "Extracting files failed" . When the browser window is reopened we see that message and we can't proceed with the installation with this flow. The behavior was reproduced with both components.
Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a public holiday for us here.

it would be best if you can update your site backend and FTP access at https://stackideas.com/dashboard/site so we can better have a check.

Hi
This reproduced by our customer and they found workaround and now is working for them.
We - Axway also reproduce it in internal test environment which can't be exposed externally. The workaround : rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps apiportal-easyblog--<version>.x86_64.rpm in our use case and it's working.
Note that this was very easy and strait forward to be reproduced so I am sure you will be able to reproduce it, just follow the instructions.

Thanks!

hey Dimitrina,

I am sorry that I didn't read properly your question in earlier.

Yes, if the user accidentally close the browser tab during installation process, it will show this 'Extracting component files - failed' when you open Easyblog dashboard from backend.

if that is the case, you have to re-upload again Easyblog full installer from backend installer page then proceed again the installation because system unable to find out the installer zip file during installation process.

Hi ,
Thank you for your reply, so you are confirming that this is expected behavior and using the full installer is the solution for this and there is no other way to restore the session data?
Thanks.

You're welcome and yes, that is the correct behavior, because currently we didn't store any session during installation at this point of time.
