Hello, I have recently had to re-install my Joomla website, but having had easyblog on my previous installation I cannot for the life of me get easyblog to upload now. I am on Mac OS x and have tried every method that I can, including FTP with Filezilla to get it to the site but no joy. Please can you help? everytime I click upload it goes to the following page and stays blank: http://update.larawood.co.uk/larawood/administrator/index.php?option=com_installer&view=install
Hello Jules,

Sorry for the late reply. I just tried to install EasyBlog for you but there are a few snags. For one I can't access your site's FTP I am getting this error

>> Connection timed out or server hung up. The server you are connecting to may be configured to limit the number of connections you are allowed to make.

Also I wanted to check the Global Configuration but when I visit this page I get a blank page. Is there something wrong with your Joomla installation? Please advice.

Thanks!

Hello Jules,

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. After some testing it seems like your site is incapable of installing anything If you can't access Global Configuration itself indicate that there are more issue here. I would suggest that if your site is new, to reinstall Joomla itself. If not then you will have to contact a Joomla forum to fix the Joomla itself first. Somehow this installation seems corrupted. Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Hi Adelene, i have resolved the problem with the global configuration page, I tried to upload the easyblog installer but got the following error messages:

The component shows up in the backend com library but does not appear in the extensoin manager, are you able to help please?

Hello Jules,

Good day. I just check this out and if you view this page

http://update.larawood.co.uk/larawood/administrator/index.php?option=com_admin&view=sysinfo

under Directory Permission u will see that the folders

JOOMLA/administrator
JOOMLA/components
JOOMLA/media

are unwritable. EasyBlog need to write into these folder in order to install the files. Please make them writable and try again. Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Hi Adelene,

I have rectified those problems but now get the following:

Warning
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file

Error
Path does not have a valid package.

Should I upload a zip file to my server or should I identify a specific file within the folder to "Install from directory"..

Regards

Jules
