Hello SI Team

Kindly go here:

https://www.finalbug.net/component/easyblog/entry/564-not-professional-final-cut-pro-x-001?Itemid=937

And then try clicking the buttons “Edit NOT Pro 002” & “Edit NOT Pro 003”

they should go here:

http://www.finalbug.net/blog-final-cut-training-resolve-etc/entry/564-not-professional-final-cut-pro-x-001?pagestart=1
http://www.finalbug.net/blog-final-cut-training-resolve-etc/entry/564-not-professional-final-cut-pro-x-001?pagestart=2

But do not.
there seems to be some kind of problem with the page break which I have used and did work.

I used it successfully for the following groups of articles:

Edit NOT like a Pro FCPX 001 - 003

https://www.finalbug.net/component/easyblog/entry/564-not-professional-final-cut-pro-x-001?Itemid=937

http://www.finalbug.net/blog-final-cut-training-resolve-etc/entry/564-not-professional-final-cut-pro-x-001?pagestart=1
http://www.finalbug.net/blog-final-cut-training-resolve-etc/entry/564-not-professional-final-cut-pro-x-001?pagestart=2

And

https://www.finalbug.net/component/easyblog/entry/565-not-professional-final-cut-pro-x-002?Itemid=937

http://www.finalbug.net/blog-final-cut-training-resolve-etc/entry/565-not-professional-final-cut-pro-x-002?pagestart=1
http://www.finalbug.net/blog-final-cut-training-resolve-etc/entry/565-not-professional-final-cut-pro-x-002?pagestart=2

And

https://www.finalbug.net/component/easyblog/entry/568-not-professional-fcpx003?Itemid=937

http://www.finalbug.net/blog-final-cut-training-resolve-etc/entry/568-not-professional-fcpx003?pagestart=1
http://www.finalbug.net/blog-final-cut-training-resolve-etc/entry/568-not-professional-fcpx003?pagestart=2

Also

FCPX Subs : The Missing Webinars 01 - 04

e.g.

https://www.finalbug.net/component/easyblog/entry/546-fcp-x-subtitles-the-missing-webinars-01?Itemid=937

These articles also have page breaks but every thing ends up displaying on the same page.

There are more groups of articles that are effect in similar ways.

I can only conclude that there is something wrong with the Easy Blog “Page break Block”

Here is one final thought.

I changed the Blog menu to the new grid menu layout:

https://www.finalbug.net/blog-grid-fcpx-resolve-co

Is it possible that this messed things up?

kindly advise

Paul

Hi Raymond

There is all kind of page break weirdness going on, on my site.
Basically go to the main blog page and check any article where there is a part 1,2,3 etc and their will be problems.
I have no idea how long this has been like this.

My guess it could even be a month/max 2 months!

thanks for looking into this and please let me know when there is progress thanks

hey Paul,

Our developer already applied some fix into our locally, it seems that fix is work correctly.

My colleague already applied the same fix into your site JoomlaFolder/plugins/easyblog/pagebreak/pagebreak.php

But it seems like this fix unable to fix the existing post which having this issue.

Don't worry, I can use one of the method to help you to automatically update all the existing content to show correctly with the pagebreak.

What you need to do is :

1. Can you revert back with your correct menu item with the blog alias?
For example : it shouldn't show these alias from the blog URL with the itemid as well.
https://www.finalbug.net/component/easyblog/entry/564-not-professional-final-cut-pro-x-001?Itemid=937

By right, it should show like this :
http://www.finalbug.net/blog-final-cut-training-resolve-etc/entry/564-not-professional-final-cut-pro-x-001?pagestart=1

2. Can you backup all of your existing data from your database?

Keep us update once both is done.

hey Arlex

With respect to 1. how do I do this?

I am not sure if this is relavant but I did purchase the URL Shortner at some point?

https://stackideas.com/apps/item/3338-url-shortener

The URL shortner/plugin looks as if it is active working to me.

eg:

https://www.finalbug.net/paul-david-murray

I am attending to 2.

Give me 10 minutes and I will report back to confirm that I have done a back up

best

hey Arlex

I have attended to number 2.
I now have a back up of the php data base.
I did this following the instructions outlined here:
https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/php-mysql/mysql_export.htm
For good measure I also made an Akeeba back up!

Item 1. has still not been attended to as I do not know how to!

One more thought does this maybe have something to do with me moving the site from

http://www.finalbug.net/

to

https://www.finalbug.net/

And yet another thought I did switch this on at one point:

Finding module positions on any given page

https://docs.joomla.org/Finding_module_positions_on_any_given_page

I have since switched it back off again!

This can also wait until tomorrow you know

all the best

Hey Paul,
For no.1, you can check the configuration in Settings>SEO>Advanced. Let us know once you have made the changes.

Hey Raymond

Please see the screen shot.
If these are the SEO setting that you were talking about then they were set up as you see in the screen shot.
If not let me know or tell me where to go.
I looked at this tutorial here:
https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/joomla15/joomla_seo.htm

In Step 1 they say:

Enable mod_rewrite. Mod_rewrite is installed on all SiteGround servers and in order to enable the rewrite rules, you will have to rename the htaccess.txt file in your Joomla installation directory to .htaccess.

So I am wondering if something got messed up at my hosters end?

Any way just let me know what to do next...

thanks

Hey Paul,
My apologies for the confusion.
I am not sure if this is relavant but I did purchase the URL Shortner at some point?
The URL shortener is not related as its function is to shorten EasySocial users profile url only. Https, modules and mod_rewrite are not related as well.

The following are the items that you should take note of:
1. This is the setting in EasyBlog backend which I mentioned earlier(http://take.ms/f2peC). It seems you are referring to an old menu item here that is already disabled(http://take.ms/Bwpwo). Perhaps you can update this value to use the current main EB page menu item, or you can also set it to default.

2. As for your blog post that contains several pages, I notice your button for page 2 and 3 of the blog post is still using an old menu item alias(http://take.ms/7BOto). I'm not sure if you are planning to use back those old menu items. In any case, you should update them and make sure to use the latest url after completing step 1.

Hey Raymond

OK this slowly making sense.
There seem to be at least 2 if not 3 things got mixed up.

a) The “OLD” blog menu (sorry my 100% my stupidity) alias must have contained
blog-final-cut-training-resolve-etc
Because the links on the buttons contained this e.g.:
blog-final-cut-training-resolve-etc/entry/564-not-professional-final-cut-pro-x-001?pagestart=1
So first thing I am doing is switching the alias for the new “Grid” menu from

blog-grid-fcpx-resolve-co
to
blog-final-cut-training-resolve-etc

So far so good?

b) In the EB>Settings>SEO>Advanced section I have switched on “Routing Behavior” = Default

This option will detect the view portion in a URL and determine which menu id is suitable for the particular link.

Maybe this got messed up when I switched to the grid menu.
But now the Blog menus look a lot cleaner and appear to be displaying correctly!?!

c) the Page Break thing!
Now the link for e.g.:
“Edit NOT like a Pro FCPX 003” looks like this:
https://www.finalbug.net/blog-final-cut-training-resolve-etc/entry/568-not-professional-fcpx003
But
The link for the “Edit NOT Pro 008”
http://www.finalbug.net/blog-final-cut-training-resolve-etc/entry/568-not-professional-fcpx003?pagestart=1
The link for the “Edit NOT Pro 009”
http://www.finalbug.net/blog-final-cut-training-resolve-etc/entry/568-not-professional-fcpx003?pagestart=2

Whilst they seem to make sense now still do not work!?!
Maybe this is the third problem!?!
The php break file?

Phew nearly there
