Good day, I run EasyBlog 3.8.14670 on the Homepage of my website http://www.myebook.co.za which uses Joomla 2.5.16
I have attempted automatic upgrade of the component which lead to the installer freezing on 10% and generating php errors referencing a Foundry folder.
I also during this process attempted a manual uninstall/install of the component (3,9) with no luck.

I was able to correct this after sometime however have had to revert t the original version (older) of the component.
Can you please advise on the correct method of upgrading this component that would keep my blog data intact and avoid the hassle I have experienced?

Warm Regards
David
Hello David,

I'm sorry that make you confusing of that Easyblog Updater, actually that updater only work from the version 3.9xxx update to 4.0xxx , if you update from 3.8xxx to 3.9xxx, that updater is not work. You have to go download the latest version of Easyblog from here http://stackideas.com/dashboard , then upload/install from your Joomla backend > Extension Manager
Hope this help.

Hi Arlex, thanks for the quick response, it might help if the version restrictions on the auto updater were indicated upfront (if they are forgive the query)
With regards to the manual installation as mentioned I had already attempted this with no luck.
At the moment after trying manual installation of the latest version I have once again hit a wall with the result being that my website is currently down.

/* Warning: fopen(/home/myeboiaa/public_html/administrator/components/com_easyblog/easyblog.xml) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/myeboiaa/public_html/libraries/joomla/filesystem/file.php on line 325

Fatal error: Call to a member function getElementByPath() on a non-object in /home/myeboiaa/public_html/components/com_easyblog/helpers/xml.php on line 68

I will enter login information for you below, please can you help me soonest to install the latst version of your component - Let me know if there is any risk to my current blog articles please!

Warm Regards
David
