Hi,

When my news team creates news articles, they usually have no issues. Today, a user created a new article and made new folders to place his images and the images all show as broken links. I tried to change all of the folders to 775 and root:apache but this did not fix it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
UPDATE:

The original author was able to fix this by not using his folders as when he put the cover image in a new folder, the image path became restricted.

How can we fix this?

Hi Fidel,
Today, a user created a new article and made new folders to place his images and the images all show as broken links.
I'm still not quite sure how to reproduce the issue on your site.

Are the following steps correct?

1. Open media manager and create a new folder in 'My Media'.

2. Upload a photo in the created folder.

3. Try to insert the photo in the post but not able to do so.

Using the above steps, I was actually able to upload the photo and insert into the article without issue(test user is from 'News Team' usergroup): https://i.imgur.com/oDd8tXX.png

Hi,

Try making a folder inside a folder inside a folder.

After publishing go to my homepage and see if the main news slider is broken .

What happened before is the news article worked but the image links were all broken because of permissions.

Thanks

Hey Fidel,

I have created several layers of folders as you mentioned but I am still unable to reproduce the issue(https://i.imgur.com/k52poLI.png).

The image is loading fine in the homepage slider. Am I missing something here?

I have unpublished that test post for now.

Maybe it is because I made those changes to the folder owner group

Thanks and sorry for wasting your time
