EA Cover Image

When I share a link to a news article from other sites in places like Skype, messenger, etc, the main image from the article is always shown.

When I share links to my EA articles, it won't grab the cover image and returns an array or just my website logo. This usually happens because the image does not have the proper tag for other programs to find. Are thw taga miaaing from EA cover photos?

Hi Fidel,

EA is actually just a platform for you to compose and publish Joomla articles so we do not actually generate any og image tags for the content.

Perhaps you can check out 3rd party extensions like JFBConnect which has the ability to insert og tags into articles.

Opengraph tags are used by most site crawlers to crawl page content.

Hi,

Since EA adds tags to cover images so that they work for twitter and fb, is it not possible to also add them so that they work when shared as links outside of fb and tw?

Since EA adds tags to cover images so that they work for twitter and fb
EA does not add tags to cover images for Twitter and FB.

Opengraph tags for Joomla articles have to be added by third party extensions and once you have the og:image tag, the image can be crawled on most sites outside of FB and Twitter(http://take.ms/65KJb).

Oh ok, wasn't sure because EA autopost shows images so I assumed that EA added these since they aren't standard in joomla.

Hey Fidel,

If the post does not have opengraph tags, FB may still be able to get the image/content since they are 'guessing' the content(http://take.ms/84Z4Z).

Or if your posts do have the tags, most probably they are generated by some other 3rd party extension.
