Hi

I've set up easy blog and each post has its own individual title and description, however Google webmaster is registering duplicate titles such as
Correct URL
http://www.consilium-ifa.co.uk/blog/inflation-spike-surprise

Additional URL generated by Easyblog

http://www.consilium-ifa.co.uk/blog/entry/inflation-spike-surprise

Could you please let me know how we can get rid of the incorrect url with the /entry part in it

Many thanks

Graham
Hello Graham,

Can you see the "referrer" link for the /entry/ link and see where it is being generated from? By the way, there is already a canonical tag being added into the head of the page as you can see here, http://screencast.com/t/iLURceBfR7ck . This will actually tell the crawlers / spiders that the /entry/ link is just an alias of the original URL specified here.

Hello Graham,

Sorry but not sure which link are you referring to here. Did you mean the screen shot? You can view the source of the page to see the canonical link.

Hello Graham,

In Google webmaster, when you click on the link, there's a popup that allows you to view "Linked From".

Hello Graham,

Perhaps I could add a 301 redirect link in your .htaccess file since you can't find where the source of the page is linking to /entry/blog-title. Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Hello Graham,

Try to add this into your htaccess file,

RedirectMatch 301 ^/blog/entry/(.*)$ http://www.consilium-ifa.co.uk/blog/$1

sorry tried the redirectMatch code and it caused more problems. URL changed but content in blog post showed post plus blogger info

The page without the /entry in the url is correct
The url that holds the /entry in the URL is pulling info from the post and the blogger info page.

I've checked through the site and I cannot see anywhere a link that refers to the url with /entry in it . This is causing over 100 duplicate title errors in webmaster tools

I've included a spreadsheet from webmaster tools showing duplicates. I'm reluctant to add additional blog posts as it will make the problem worse

I feel the easy blog component is great, but I need to resolve this issue

Hello Graham,

Sorry but I really don't understand your issue here because if you are being redirected with the htaccess then the /entry wouldn't be in the URL and it should be exactly as what you see when you click on the link to the blog post.

Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Thanks Graham! By the way, I am not sure if I really understood your issue about the htaccess redirection. I have tried this and when accessing the site with the URLs below, they both appeared exactly the same for me

http://www.consilium-ifa.co.uk/blog/are-you-worried-about-retirement
http://www.consilium-ifa.co.uk/blog/entry/are-you-worried-about-retirement -> redirects to -> http://www.consilium-ifa.co.uk/blog/are-you-worried-about-retirement
