Thanks for took your time to explanation this, we will fix this in next release version so for now you no need to add the blog image from build-in composer blog post, in next version it will display the content image on the listing page even you post in build-in composer.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

It seems like that is bug, can you try download my attached file and replace into following file location and see how it goes?
JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easyblog/includes/post/post.php

Note : Remember backup your original file before you replace.

After I updated the post.php file:

- The front page post image disappeared for this blog.

- The entry post image now displays one image and a placeholder image above it.

To keep the post from looking so bad with the extra placeholder visible in the post, I renamed the file placeholder-image.png in the components/com_easyblog/themes/wireframe/images directory to placeholder-image.png.bak. It still shows the name of the placeholder, but it doesn't look as bad in my posts while you guys are researching a fix for me.

You can rename it back after you have a fix.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

You can't just renamed this placeholder image file from JoomlaFolder/components/com_easyblog/themes/wireframe/images/... , it will show broken image on your entry page, can you rename it back? because I was unable to connect with your FTP server, you provided that password is incorrect.

The reason why it populate that image placeholder on the blog entry page is because by default the system will check if your blog post whether got post cover or not, if don't have, it will display placeholder image on the page.

If you would like disabled that placeholder image, you have to disable it from backend > Easyblog > setting > views > entry layout > placeholder image - NO, but based on what i checked on your site, it seems like you do not want to inherit the setting from the view, so it will refer back what you configure the setting from your category which is "Blog" category setting page.

I already disabled this for you, can you check your blog entry page, do not show the placeholder image now.

Regarding with your frontend listing page do not show the image is because that blog post do not have any post cover, so it will not show the image on your listing page.

Hope this explanation will help.

I think I understand better now.

If I build my blog using your easyblog editor, it strictly uses the post cover or placeholder image at the entry level, but not at the category level even if I have post cover disabled everywhere.

If I build my blog using the JCE editor, the category level uses my image from the blog posting, and will display it in the blog entry as well correct and not duplicate the post cover.

So, it appears my best action would be to update all of my posts to have a post cover and remove any images that in the posting that would duplicate the post cover.

Example of using your built-in editor: "Five Steps To Move Beyond Mundane" Click Categories-Blog
- look at front page level picture (there is no picture) and 'continue reading' full post (there is a picture)

Example of using the JCE editor: "Directory Updates" - Click Categories-Latest News
- look at the front page level picture (there is a picture) and 'continue reading' full post (there is a picture)

but both Blog and Latest News have the exact settings for how to handle post images and placeholder images.

Seems to be something wrong with how it handles pictures vs. post covers depending on the editor used.
