1° Pop-box is set as "top left" and with "flip vertical" however it will show down the page.

From what I checked, currently these "Popbox position" setting only affect for the login popbox instead of dropdown menu.

Perhaps you can move this module at the top of the page.

2° I could sort of solve this using the position "absolute" but the the content of the drop-down is hidden by the main content of the page even though the z-index is very high.

Hm is it can update us with your licensed domain site backend and FTP access so we can better have a check which part show hidden?

- update us page URL which display that dropdown menu
- provide us some screenshot what you mean by hidden part

Sorry for the misuse of term ; I meant the dropdown menu.

Issue is solved with css using a fixed position for the dropdown menu.
