IT's OK I've fixed it now
The en-GB.mod_easydiscuss_post_topic.ini located within siteroot/languages , was missing (((( COM_EASYDISCUSS_SELECT_CATEGORY="Select a category"))))
All sorted now but thanks for initial response...
