If there is a previous draft available when i go to edit a post, a pop up appears (see image).

The message is confusing.

I assume there should be three options and the message should be:

"There is already a draft available for this post. Would you like to continue editing this draft or use the previous draft? Do you want to remove the previous draft?"

Button options:

Continue editing this draft and remove previous draft
Continue editing this draft and keep previous draft
Use the previous draft

If you could clarify please.
Hi Richard,

The options that we have currently is the first and third option from your button options.

Your second button option is not possible because there can only be one draft copy for each blog post.

I understand Raymond, thank you, those two options are fine, i just needed clarification as the message and actions in the pop up do not relate to each other/make any sense, could Stackideas please correct the message text in their next update?

I assume if I click button one the existing draft disappears and i go to the previous draft and if i click button two i stay on the existing draft and the previous draft is discarded?

Hey Richard,
I assume if I click button one the existing draft disappears and i go to the previous draft
The existing post content will not be deleted because that is the content from the published post. Yes you will be redirected to the previous draft.
if i click button two i stay on the existing draft and the previous draft is discarded?
That is correct.

Feel free to provide us text suggestion if you have a better phrase.

Thank you for clarification.

Ref Text

The pop up asks "Would you like to continue using existing draft or discard previous draft?". This does not make any sense as they are not two alternate choices.

The first button says "Continue using previous draft", which is not an action related to the question.

The Suggested text in my initial post, with third button option removed, is as follows:

"There is already a draft available for this post. Would you like to continue editing this draft or use the previous draft? Do you want to remove the previous draft?"

Button options:

Continue editing this draft and remove previous draft
Use the previous draft

Hey Richard,

Thanks for your input.

Below is my suggestion for the text.
"There is already a draft available for this post. Would you like to continue editing the previous draft or the current post, which discards the previous draft?"

Continue Editing Previous Draft
Discard previous draft

The buttons should correspond properly to the question now. What do you think?

It is very close Raymond, only a minor adjustment:

"There is already a draft available for this post. Would you like to edit the previous draft or the current post, which discards the previous draft?"

Edit previous draft
Discard previous draft and edit current post

The adjustment is because "Would you like to continue editing the previous draft" indicates i am already editing the previous draft, but when i first go into edit a post, i am in the current post.

The word 'continue' could be placed under the buttons (as in 'Click and Continue' or left out.

You could also leave out the word 'previous' as it is not really needed, 'edit the draft', 'which discards the draft', 'Edit Draft' and 'Discard draft and edit current post' are all fine.
