Downloading installation files failed while updating to easyblog 5.0

Hi guys,

I was trying to update my easyblog version from 3.9 to 5 and was following the instructions on:

Even so the requirements were all fine and good to go to the next step the installation failed due to the fact that "downloading installation files" failed. After that, my frontend and backend weren't available anymore (I don't recall the error message anymore but something in linie ... was missing).

I made a backup of my ftp data as well as my data base before the upgrade so I reloaded the ftp data until my frontend was looking presentable again.

Today I noticed that the easyblog menu in the backend has broken links going to 404 pages.

Can you advise what would be the best way to get a clear easyblog version again? Should I reload all ftp data as well as the database?
And do you know what might gone wrong with the installation of version 5? I was trying to use the installation via network method.

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. I have updated EasyBlog to 5.0.17 for you. Can you give this a try now? By the way, just some suggestions, you could add some touch up to your template by adding the codes below (Looks like the template doesn't have any padding)

I have tried to access in your Joomla backend, but hitting this :

Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.


That strange, if you follow that documentation, it should be fine, can you provide us with your FTP access as well?

I tried to login with the credentials I provided you with and was able to login...can you please try again? I also added my ftp data.

thanks for updating it.

Agreed with the missing padding. With the update the layout for all easy blog elements changed. But I like it and will configurate it to my needs.

Yep, this is a major update from 3.9.x and we have improvised / removed / changed / added quite a number of stuffs here

Yep it looks kinda cool and I was looking forward to the xing integration. It is definitely a major tool and I am afraid I might only use 10% of it . But I will try to catch up soon and use the new features
