Hello,

for data privacy reasons I need to activate a double opt-in procedure for subscriptions. Where can I find this option?

Thank you

Daniel
Hello Daniel,

EasyBlog doesn't have a double opt-in system. It however does notify the user when they subscribe.

Hello Mark,

thank you for the answer.

Is there any chance that this will be implemented in a future version?
In some countries, such as in Germany, you are breaking the law when you are using a subscription function without a double opt-in system.

Hello Daniel,

Hm, we have not received much requests of a doublt opt-in but we did receive requests about subscription confirmation. With the subscription confirmation, the users can choose to unsubscribe should they decide to not subscribe.

Alternatively, you can integrate EasyBlog with Mailchimp or Sendy which maintains a double opt-in service. These services / software are more sophisticated because they are designed to be a newsletter system unlike EasyBlog

Hello Mark,

unfortunatley the subscription information where the users can choose to unsubscribe should they decide to not subscribe is not enough to follow the law in Germany. MailChimp or Sendy are a little bit oversized for a simple blog subscription. Can I make a feature request to see if there is a need for double opt-in?

Hello Daniel,

Sure you could always post this under the EasyBlog > Feature Requests area on our forums
