I just updated from ES 1.14, which worked well with my current theme, to ES 1.2, and now, EasySocial is fighting with my theme. I hadn't updated ES in 2-3 months, since I was focused on setting up the BLOG side of our site first (with EasyBlog).

Well, please try logging in and see for yourself. Credentials are below. Thank you.

See screen capture (url)

PS: When I paid for the update of ES today, the status went from "Advanced" to "Professional." I don't know whether that helps you at all?

Hello John,

I can't access the site with the details you provided, but I have fixed for you by updated the codes into
/templates/yoo_lava/html/com_easysocial/styles/style.min.css
/templates/yoo_lava/css/custom.css
/templates/yoo_lava/styles/cmsx/css/bootstrap.css

Hello John,

Just for your information, Yootheme seems to be resetting everything very crazily because they are slapping !important to most of their css stylesheets and it's a very bad practice because with !important, this simply implies that "nobody else can alter how things looks like everything within the theme".

We tried to contact Yootheme but there's no response from them about this and I am assuming that they might not want to bother about other 3rd party extensions. Perhaps, you as a customer have a greater voice than us?

Ouch, maybe it's time to stop doing business with Yootheme. Bummer.

You should also add a link to this post on their forum, so they know what you are talking about.

I am using yoo nano3 and Warp7 with no issues so far.

@checksum glad you're having no issues. Wonder why I did? Are you in agreement then, about the use of !important being inflexible or prohibitive, as a practice?

I informed @mustaq of what I'm trying to accomplish, and the inflexibility of the theming convention, using !important. If they don't have a solution in mind (I hope they do), perhaps I'll ask here for suggestions in this forum for your ideas, so I'll know what next steps to take in order to make sure our over-arching theme and subordinate components' themes play nice together.

Hi John,
I have to disagree with Mark on this one. I have been using yootheme for a long time now, and currently using yoo nano3 , I have modified that theme extensively along with easysocial, and did not encounter any real issues.

The yootheme template on John's site seems to have some enforcement on the button, input and textarea to use context-box and this messes up with the calculation of the padding / margins. Are you both using the same template?

Yeah, probably they are different? I am not sure but it's best that we could get a better understanding from Yootheme on this matter

OK, in the meantime, I just got notified that now, my site is all jumbled up when looking at it in IE, after the fix applied on EasySocial. I think I may have some OLD overrides from when EasySocial 1.1x was installed. I'm going to revert back for now, and try again on a totally separate development server with 1.2x.
