Hello,

I am trying to install EasySocial on Joomla! 3.3.1 with PostgreSQL 9.1. The installation failed at Initializing Database step. I checked system requirements and found only MySQL in the list. Do you support PostgreSQL?

Regards,
Vlad
Hello Vladimir,

Hm, to be honest with you we don't actually have such plans yet unless we see a rising demand for this. We are actually focusing on the fundamentals of EasySocial currently. Perhaps in the future versions, we are actually considering supporting MS SQL and PostgreSQL.

Hello Vladimir,

To be honest with you, we have never really tried this. If you are using Joomla's PostgreSQL adapter, it should work fine considering that we actually use Joomla's SQL adapter. However, with the latest 1.2.17 update, we are now using MySQL's stored functions and I am not really sure if this is possible with PostgreSQL though as we have never really tested this.

Thank you for the quick reply, Mark. If you are using MySQL stored procedures, I guess the answer to my question is No. Do you plan to provide official support for Joomla on PostgreSQL?

Vlad

Let me know when you start working on Postgres support; I might be available for beta testing.
