Does EasyBlog use Joomla Custom Fields

Hi

I would like to know if i installed a Custom Field from the JED that I could use it in easy blog or does easyblog use its own system?

If easyblog uses its own system will you be looking at using Joomlas native Cusotm Fields system?

EasyBlog uses it's own custom fields instead of Joomla custom fields. This is mainly because the custom fields in Joomla stores it's data on it's own tables which references to it's own content tables. Since EasyBlog stores it's own data on it's own tables, it wouldn't be able to utilize fields from Joomla.

We have a separate extension (EasyArticles) for that matter. It uses the fields and data storage from Joomla articles

Maybe going forward this is something to look at because from my understanding the Joomla Custom Fields is available to use in all components on purpose.

That is true as well but we would prefer to use our own instead as we have better control over our fields.
