When I autopost an article to facebook, should it also be posting an image as well, eg the post cover image or first image in the article?

If it should, how do I set this up, as currently I am only autoposting text, which is not too good (see my attached image),

thanks,
Tom.
Hey Tom,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. EasyArticles does push your image to Facebook provided that you have set a post cover for your article. If you did not set a post cover, it would not be able to pick the image.

Hi Mark, my client still cannot see any image being pulled through to facebook.
They are adding an image as a post cover, and in fact had also done that for the original post I mentioned.
Can you assist?
I also have metaman plugin installed on the site,

I can give you ftp access or joomla access if it will assist you?

thanks,
Tom.

Hey Tom,

Sure, if you could insert your site and ftp access on https://stackideas.com/dashboard/site it would be much appreciated. Once you have done that, reply to this thread and let us know so that we can check on this

Hey Tom,

Ah, it looks like Facebook recently updated their API where it will never allow 3rd party to send the URL to the image. Facebook needs to crawl the article page on your site to retrieve the image using the opengraph tags. EasyArticles would automate sending the url to Facebook but you still need to have the opengraph meta data on the page that renders your Joomla articles.

At the mean time, there are a couple of ways to insert open graph tags on the site, you can try out the plugin from https://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension/site-management/seo-a-metadata/phoca-open-graph/

I have also logged a ticket internally and see if we are able to create a content plugin for EasyArticles to insert these opengraph meta data.
