Facebook is changing their API requirements so that the app we developed to auto post our entries from Easy Blog cannot be posted to Facebook groups. Can you please provide documentation on how to adjust our Easy Blog and Facebook app settings to get approved by Facebook to post entries to a group? Thanks!
Hey Brad,

Can I know where did you saw the notes about the inability to auto post to a Facebook group? I don't recall seeing any release notes from Facebook regarding this or I might have missed it. Can you please advise?

This was the original ticket I referenced:
https://stackideas.com/forums/i-cannot-see-my-facebook-groups-in-my-available-list-after-5-2-upgrade

I tried following it's instructions to great an App Review and allow users_managed_groups with Facebook, but Facebook rejected my application. I'm hoping that someone else has been able to successfully submit an App Review with Facebook and allow my account to pull down a list of Facebook groups my Facebook account manages so I can post there. Auto posts to managed Pages is working fine. Thanks!

Hi Brad,

Unfortunately the users_managed_groups is going to be deprecated soon as announced by Facebook so our attempts of getting it reviewed previously have failed too.

With Facebook's new requirement in place, we have just submitted these 2 permissions to Facebook for review(http://take.ms/WdfXU). Once they are approved and autopost works, we will have sufficient information about the review process which we will update in our documentation.

By the way, if there is only one blogger posting on the site and who is also the owner of the FB app, you can try setting the app in development mode(app admin can autopost without requiring app review, http://take.ms/lRTLx).

Also publish_actions permissions become deprecated (New Facebook Platform Product Changes and Policy Updates) so i suppose we cannot set autoposting to user's private profile as described in the documentation.

Please provide updated documentation as soon as possible.

Hey salvatore,

That is correct. The publish_actions permissions will most likely won't be supported anymore in the future and this will also affect a lot of other Facebook auto publishing extensions out there.
Please provide updated documentation as soon as possible.
Yes we will try to do this as soon as possible once we are successful with Facebook's recent app review permission requirements.

Do you confirm that however these recent changes will have no effect on posting to FB page, which needs base permissions only ?

Hey salvatore,

Currently the publish_actions permission does not affect posting to FB pages, just posting to FB profile.

As for autoposting to FB pages will require app review, similar to groups but this is not enforced yet and there's no news from FB as to when this will be taken into effect.

I'm going to request extra permissions for the App.

Selectable elements are these :

business_management
groups_access_member_info
manage_pages
pages_manage_instant_articles
publish_pages
publish_to_groups
read_insights
read_page_mailboxes
user_age_range
user_birthday
user_events
user_friends
user_gender
user_hometown
user_likes
user_link
user_location
user_managed_groups
user_photos
user_posts
user_tagged_places
user_videos

As you can see publish_actions is no more on the list.

Please tell me which items i have to select for enabling Autoposting for users.

The permissions publish_actions is only for auto posting on your profile. If your app is recently created, you wouldn't be able to auto post to your profile.

The auto posting to your page would still work.

Yes i know, i want to enable autoposting to author's personal profiles.

The permissions publish_actions is only for auto posting on your profile. If your app is recently created, you wouldn't be able to auto post to your profile.

The auto posting to your page would still work.

When i created the App i made 3 extra request, as in the documentation, for :
manage_pages
publish_pages
publish_actions

These permissions were refused, so now i have to request again extra permissions ( "Start a submission" )

Considering that publish_actions is no more on the list, as i said,
which permisions i have to ask exactly ?

Hey salvatore,

Facebook has already removed the publish_actions permissions as you can see here(http://take.ms/A25Su).

Unfortunately, this means that if you do not currently have an approved permission for this in your app, you can no longer submit one for review.

This also means that currently there is no way for users to autopost to their own profile anymore, which is why Facebook mentioned at the end that the only way is to use social sharing.

Since autoposting to author's own FB profile is no longer possible, we have removed the setting from EasyBlog's autopost settings in the latest version.
