I have contacted my server host and raised the memory to 256M - now I get an internal server error:
They have given me the following details in chat: I would appreciate any further advice - I'm a little stuck!

(15:54) [Dave] I spoke to another forum of the component it is trying to load and they replied: When i turn on the Error_reporting to Maximum, then i saw this error when i access your discussion page, can you contact with your webhosting provider to help you increase the memory_size to 128M(Recommended) and see how it goes?
